Its Trashy Tuesday ...

Today I try to motivate you to help cleanup your community ...

It doesn't matter if you live here in Bloomfield or across the world...

Today I challenge you and I to stop making excuses .

There are a lot of people that say
" I would but ( enter any number of excuses here )"

Yes there are always valid reasons why you can't at any given moment... but there are also many times its just an excuse.

Yes you should always use common sense and use caution when necessary...

But picking up the candy wrapper or receipt in the parking lot or the water bottle lids that are everywhere on walking paths has no more risk involved than getting in your car and driving down the road .

And these posts are at myself just as much as for others .....
I made an excuse last week when we were out on trail ... there was a TON of trash everywhere.
I said I will get a bag full on the way out ...
By the time we were coming back out I was absolutely exhausted , sweating like a pig ( this was the climbing over rocks and steep trails day ) and I said I can't possibly carry one more thing .
That was an excuse ... I could have very easily filled the bag with lightweight items and tied it on my backpack . As soon as we got back to the car I recognized it for what it was - a lame excuse 🫤

But last night we ran to town and on the way home spotted a box in the road right up the hill from us ... husband didn't stop in the pull off so we could pick it up 🙄, so we ended up parked at home .
Dang it was gonna be a walk - uphill 🤪
But off we went ...
Grabbed the box off of the road and filled it with garbage on the way back down .
No excuses made .

Here we gooooo Race Across America first bicyclist is expected to be coming through today !!!

The gully washer of a storm last night left even more work for us to get done this morning ... but we are finishing cleaning the house up and setting up the farmstand this morning so we will be ready and waiting for Philipp Kaider Ultracycling and his crew this afternoon 💗💗💗

Can't wait to do this all week again 💗

Early Mornings and Late Nights :

I slept about 2 solid hours last night and woke up just a bit after 6 this morning ... as I checked the trackers I saw a solo rider was near .
My first thoughts were honestly that I didn't want to move , I thought it doesn't matter if I go out or not , the kids aren't up to cheer and I'm too tired to do anything other than wave as they pass .
But I made myself get up , go to the bathroom and head out the front door to watch him pass ... as I was walking out towards the farmstand I saw him coming down the hill so I started waving a half awake type of lazy wave .
And then he slowed down and made a quick turn into the drive followed by a van and a few moments later another van !!!
They were just wanting a quick bathroom break ...
But for me it was absolutely wonderful to get to meet another incredible bicyclist and all the crew 💗

He looked good for all the miles he's already put in and we are rooting for him to make it to the finish line .

Do the hard things
And
Get up even when you don't want to
I'm so thankful I did today 💗
