Grace & Joy Farms is an all natural grass fed beef and lamb operation. We raise a heritage herd of Wye Angus cattle, chosen for their moderate frame and grass finishing ability. Our hope is to not only raise a quality product but to help preserve the original work and efforts of James Lingle and the cattle he built the herd around at the Wye Plantation for Arthur A Houghton, Jr. We also raise grass fed and finished St. Croix and Katahdin hair sheep.

To all my cattle friends curious if all the rain got in the way of our first cutting - not at all. In fact, I'm the kind of guy, who for a nominal fee, will transplant to your farm. Two varieties to choose from. Slight upcharge for the purple flowers. Multiple cuttings still to come.

Well, over here in East Dakota, we aren't used to this weather. Woke up to "feels like" -3. Worse will be tomorrow night. Total snow still showing 7-14" for this event, down from 14-22". Broke ice and tried to make a wind screen to keep a drinker flowing, could be a tough week on water. Stay safe all.

Posted awhile back most of the other bulls walking around here, or used in recent years, but held off on this guy waiting for a better picture opportunity. His sire, SVR Prince Copeland 8201F, owned by Harold Brubaker, has sons in use in several herds, including 2 on test at Wye. This one, Prince of BFA 22K13 has already produced nice calves here.

Inspired today by Kinckle Laithreach Farms , this group of calves (and 2 cows) didn't seem interested in turkey, so I hope they appreciate the salad bar! Not too many paddock moves left this year.
