MAE-Flower Homemade was started in 2014 by Sina Gilbert from on her desire to offer a healthy alternative to mass-produced consumer breads for her family. The Gilbert Family includes Quentin and Sina and their three daughters, Miriam, Amelia and Eliza. They reside in Bloomfield, IN and are are active members of Odon Christian Church and can mostly be found working on their farm or running their ch

ildren to sports practices. Sina has a passion for making foods most commonly purchased from big box stores. In 2004 she started learning how to preserve her own fruits and vegetables. Her enjoyment of this led her to seek out ways to replace pantry staples with wholesome homemade foods. Sina’s research into the nutritional value of commercial flour lead her to start milling her whole wheat berries in 2012 and ultimately, she started producing homemade artesian, whole wheat and sweet breads for sale at produce stands and farmer’s markets. In 2019 the Gilbert's purchased 50 acres and began the adventure of raising Idaho Pasture pigs, becoming registered IPP breeders in 2021. The addition of livestock brought many changes including a name change of the farm to MAE Farm.
