Our recipe started on Grandma (Bobute) Genovaite Sriubaite-Setikas’ stovetop as a special drink she and Grandpa Antanas made for friends and family.

HAPPY PRIDE

Quince Cosmo
1 oz Vodka
0.5 oz Quince fruit spirit
0.75 oz Orange liqueur
0.75 oz Lime juice
0.5 oz Cranberry juice

The cosmo is a classic cocktail with it’s origins blurred over time, but the current iteration has been widely contributed to the gay community of Provincetown Massachusetts. No one knows who made the first modern day Cosmopolitan, but cranberries grew abundantly in Massachusetts at the time – so using it in cocktails was somewhat regional. Using cranberry juice rather than using rose’s grenadine entirely elevated the cocktail and the popularity rippled around the country. It then went on to become the signature “Sex and the City” drink, as well as a favorite of Madonna’s.
