All my goats and chickens have found new homes 🩷 I’m no longer selling eggs and the website is permanently closed. My soaps can still be found at the Amish Bent n Dent and my holiday scents hit The Gobles Antique Mall in a few weeks 🎄

It’s been a privilege sharing fresh eggs, asparagus, garlic, and farm goodies with you for the last 5 years here in Michigan, and 10 years prior to that from my little half acre homestead in Illinois. Thank you for the love and support! This page will be likey consist of puppy and sunset pics until its eventual deactivation.

****Update - all 7 goats have found very very good homes! *****

Very (very) sadly, I am seeking a new home for my goats.

The herd tested negative for CAE, CL, and Johnes in 2024 and they’re seen by our vet for yearly checkups, CDT injections, and deworming when needed. They can come with hay, and I can also send them with caprine health supplies, solar fence energizers, and milk lab equipment if desired.

They’ve thrived on rotating pasture and are great at knocking down invasives. All goats are trained to the milk stand for care and vaccines.

They’re friendly (hand raised), stand well for hoof trims, and easy to catch. My primary concern is finding the right home, so if you have a great setup but limited financial means, please know the rehoming fee is open and flexible in exchange for a good, warm home. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to clear land and add some friendly critters to the homestead.

***Please note a good, warm home includes winter-ready, appropriately-sized existing shelter. Limited goat experience is ok but shelter, fencing, water, transport, and hay storage is required. No meat buyers.

Welcome Josie 🩷 At 10 weeks and 2 pounds, you prove the biggest personalities often arrive in the smallest packages! 🩷 New puppy life means excitement, entertainment, and exhaustion all at once, but even on groggy (early) mornings, your little face is my favorite thing to wake up to. Can’t wait to go on adventures together my tiny friend! 🩷

The farmstand is closed because I had the audacity to install roll-away nesting boxes. The girls went on strike, furious about newly-imposed automation technology, and our egg inventory consequently plummeted. Plenty of really dirty eggs were laid on the ground in protest; we can wash and sell these for immediate refrigeration, but the farmstand fridge chose to join the flock in solidarity by also refusing to work, so all protest eggs will be at the Amish Bent n Dent store.

We appreciate your patience as we negotiate with our feathered workforce. The farmstand will reopen once production resumes. 🐓 🥚 🙄

The moon presided over tragedy last night as the kids and I came home to yet another vehicle/Amish buggy collision, this one involving multiple children along with their parents. This keeps happening. It’ll be 5 years this October that we’ve lived here and I struggle to articulate how astounded I am by the pervasive lack of consideration for pedestrian and equine transportation in a town heavily populated by those who travel only by foot and horse. With blind hills, a busy intersection near the store, and sun blindness possible in both directions, this stretch of 388 requires a consistent sense of caution most drivers seem incapable and unwilling to hold.

Please, whether shopping their store, visiting the farmstand, or simply passing through, take heed of the (multiple) warning signs, drive sober, and drive carefully. 388 isn’t a “back country road” - it’s a major highway for our neighbors and friends. A little respect goes a long way in saving lives.
