Why wool is one of the best mulches you can put in your garden 👇

Wool suppresses w**ds, holds moisture in the soil and slowly breaks down, feeding the soil as it goes.

Laid thick over the garden soil the wool fibres naturally felt together into a dense barrier that blocks light and smothers w**d growth. Underneath, the soil stays protected, moisture doesn't evaporate as quickly and temperatures are found to stay more stable.

As the season progresses, wool begins to break down, releasing nitrogen and other nutrients slowly back into the soil. By the time fall arrives and you're pulling up spent plants, the wool is already on its way to becoming part of the garden.

The American Lamb Board (ALB) is looking for 150 sheep producers to participate in its Climate Smart Sheep program. Producers enrolled in the program will be paid up to $7,000 to develop and implement Climate Smart Sheep management practices and measure and report emissions and life cycle analysis.
