We changed the skyline on Thursday this week. The silo was torn down by an Amish crew they took the first stave off at about 12:30, the silo was on the ground by 5pm. They came back today (Friday) to finish picking up. Sure looks different! The silo had become unsafe and was actually starting to buckle in a couple spots.

With the end of summer coming it's time to start weaning and breaking new calves. Have the first batch starting this process and another group to start soon. Brinlee and Sarah had a great day at Grant County Fair. Brinlee was Champion Angus Female, Reserve Overall Female, Champion Angus Bull, Overall Champion Bull and Overall Champion Intermediate Showman. Class Winners for Sarah but the first time in the ring heifer was not very cooperative for showmanship.

The Beef barn at Grant County Fair has a great turnout this year. Show day is tomorrow and the livestock auction is Saturday afternoon. Be sure and come out and support all the youth by walking the barns, attending the show and taking part in the auction.

Show day at Iowa State Fair was a success. Fernadan was second in class, Rex was Reserve Division and Hilda was 4th. With the competition that Iowa State Fair has I like to call it Mini National's. Both Fernadan and Rex are available if you're looking for a breeding bull. 147 head shown today.

Join us on Sunday, May 24 for the Annual Southwestern Wisconsin Angus Classic. There will be classes for Angus Bulls, Cow/Calf Pairs, Heifers, and Steers as well as a predominantly black Commercial Heifer and Crossbred Steer Show.

***NEW THIS YEAR! Option to participate in a PGS Bull or Heifer Class. Animals are judged on both genotype and phenotype, each weighted 50% in the final score.

▪️Entry Fees: $30 if received by 5/17; $50 if late.
▪️Location: Grant County Fairgrounds, 916 East Elm Street, Lancaster, Wisconsin
▪️Out-of-State exhibitors are required to have health papers.
▪️Cattle are able to arrive on Saturday, May 23 after 10 AM. All cattle must be checked in by Sunday, May 24 at 8 AM. The show will be held on Sunday, May 24 with the show starting at 9 AM.
▪️ Exhibitor eligibility: Open to anyone wishing to participate.
