🌾 A Note from Our Hearts to Yours: Putting Our Mission First 🐾
If you’ve been following Compass Rose for awhile, you know that our guiding light has always been simple: Every life tells a story, and every story deserves a home. Sometimes, those stories arrive at our gates unexpectedly, needing us to drop everything to help them heal.
This week, the sanctuary took in an influx of new animal residents—including a large group of sheep who are in incredibly poor condition and who will require intensive medical care and rehabilitation. At the same exact time, a few of our beloved residents (including Buddy, who is currently receiving care at Purdue, and Sweet Pea) are facing steep medical hills of their own.
Because we are a small team currently running on short staffing, I have made a tough but necessary choice. I have decided to cancel this Sunday’s Roots & Radiance Celebration. I know this is disappointing news, and we were so looking forward to celebrating the end of the school year with you all. However, our first and highest promise will always be to the animals who call this sanctuary home. Right now, they need 100% of our hands, our energy, our funds, and our focus.
Choosing their well-being over a public event is the healthiest choice for our farm, our team, and most importantly, our animals.

👋 Lend a Hand: With extra animals and short staffing, our daily farm chores have multiplied. If you are local and want to roll up your sleeves to help with morning/evening feeding, stall cleaning, or pasture maintenance, please message us or fill out our volunteer form!
