Updates of the late summer forest gardens:
The days are shortening again, the sun sits lower in the sky, and we’re looking forward to the sweet, cooler temps again. The garden ebbs and flows, but still abundant in tomatoes, the start of our apple harvest, ripening grapes, hummingbirds and butterfly gatherings, herbs and flowers for days on end.

Things have been 🔥BRINING UP over here! This season we’ve been on a fermenting mission to transform as much amazing produce from our local farmers and our forest gardens into your favorite gut-loving, delicious ferments! All our flavors stocked now & & select flavors

Some of our sauerkrauts and kimchi this year feature locally grown cabbages from our trusted farmer friends and who follow farming practices we believe in.

Chemical-free, lovingly grown here in Bloomington with all the nutrients and flavors we love. Thank you to our awesome team for rocking this fermentation frenzy with us! And of course to all our kraut & kimchi lovers for your amazing support.

First of our fresh cucumbers + fresh dill + brine + seasonings = a crunchy, flavorful pickle to help you keep your cool this summer & as a perfect side or snack.

Pro-tip: Don’t throw away the remaining brine, use it in salad dressings, marinades or even add a dash into a martini cocktail! 🍸

Garden Updates - June 2026:
1) Blueberry harvests in full swing
2) Cabbage heads just about ready for harvest & turning into more ‘kraut
3) Good fruit set on grapes, ready in a few weeks
4) Pollinators party on Elecampane flowers
5) Asian Pears bearing plenty of fruit!
6) Bumblee bee & calendula
7) Bee Balm (Wild Bergamot) in bloom
8) Fresh Basil harvest = more pesto!

This time of year is FULL. In between farming & maintaining the gardens, we’ve been busy bees in the certified farm stop kitchen making plenty of ferments, and in the drying room drying basils, mints, flowers and more for our tea line Blossom & The Bee Tea + Botanicals. 🐝🫖

Eat the spicy rainbow! 🌈🌶️ All our sauces range from mild to extra hot and are bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors that add a dash of heat to your meals this summer. (Plus, they also make great gifts for a spice loving Dad in your life 😉) Come by Btown Comm. Farmers' Market 8am to 12.30pm and give ‘em a sample!

We love them on anything & everything, but recently we’ve been enjoying adding them into marinades on some grilled local chicken from our friends Nightfall Farm & Schacht Farm.

Find our ‘Desert Island’ sauce served up at our local brunch spot Scenic View Restaurant - they are now open for dinners on thursdays.
