Hello everyone! As you may know we're not very picky about how our lawn appears. We prefer an edible landscape. This is our front yard. The picture on the left is rhubarb and the other is asparagus. I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful day as much as I am. :)

Let me tell you about a farmer. This is my Grandfather, Gerald Turner. Today we laid him to rest next to Grandma just a few miles from the land that he worked for over 60 years. He was president of Indiana Pork Producers for a time, grew several hundred acres corn, soybeans and wheat, raised many trophy winning hogs and was a mentor to most folks who knew him. All 7 of his kids were there today along multitudes of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He worked hard his whole life and still found time to teach me and a bunch of my cousins how to fish and mushroom hunt. This man will be missed by many. There are few men like this left in the world. Rest easy Grandpa.

Tomorrow I'll be helping our friends at Brown Co. Forest Farming sell gourmet mushrooms at the Nashville Farmers Market. Come see us at the Brown County Inn from 11am to 2pm. Come get your fungus fix, can't wait to see you there!

Here we go again. We'll be harvesting another big bunch of shiitake mushrooms in the next few days! It a good thing I don't get tired of eating these. :)
