Happy New Years to our Towaki community! It’s been a long year of waiting and planning for Towaki’s opening in 2026. We do not yet have an opening date, but all of our plans are within the hands of the City of Bloomington for approval.

It’s been a sweet, quiet winter season with family in Indiana and Florida, visiting local breweries and buying all the chairs and barstools needed for our space (so many chairs!!).

May you all have safe New Years Eve and support your local breweries! We will let you know more as we do, and we cannot wait to share a beer with you.

Hey Bloomington! Head over to Heartwork Brewing to try our collab, “Witchburned,” a tropical Double IPA.

Introducing: Witchburned. This tropical DIPA is a Pink Boots Society Indianapolis collab, with a portion of proceeds going towards supporting women and non-binary people in the industry through scholarships and education. Brewed at Heartwork with women representing 8 Indiana breweries and organizations, including Indiana Brewers Guild, Big Lug, Guggman Haus, Heartwork, Kismetic, Sun King, Towaki, and Upland. Cheers!

Congrats to the IU Women’s Rugby team on their win against IUI this weekend! We saw some great tackles, drives, and some fancy footwork that led to your win.

Did you know that you can watch our Indiana Women’s Rugby team for FREE at the Rec Sports field on Fee Lane? FREE LIVE WOMEN’S SPORTING EVENTS?!? Amazing.

Our Owner and Head Brewer, Kim, played rugby for IU from 1998-2003. Playing rugby gave her knowledge of what it takes to build a great team and why diversity matters on every team, and how to cultivate community and lifelong friendships. Kim’s still passionate about supporting her IU team and women’s sports at IU to this day.

Join us at IU’s next home game vs Ball State on September 13 at 11am! Maybe we will see you there 🏉❤️🌪️

We had the best day brewing a beer with Heartwork Brewing and our new friends in Bloomington and Indy. Beer proceeds benefit women and non-binary folks in fermentation (beer, cider, wine, spirits). Can’t wait to share a pint with you all!

Guardian Brewing closed in Michigan, but it wasn't the end for the owners, who moved to Indiana, where they are currently working to open Towaki Brewing.
