Heritage vs. Commercial Breeds 🐖🌱

At MKONO Farm, we raise heritage breeds traditional animals known for their hardiness, natural traits, and exceptional flavor. Commercial breeds are bred for rapid growth and production efficiency.

Both serve a purpose, but we’re proud to preserve heritage genetics while raising animals on pasture the way nature intended🌿☀️.

What type of breed are you raising? ⬇️✨

This past weekend, we had the privilege of serving a Fire Dining experience under the open sky at Wild God 🔥✨

There’s something special about gathering around a table together. Throughout Scripture, many meaningful moments happened over a shared meal, and this weekend was a beautiful reminder of the gift of slowing down, sharing good food, and enjoying fellowship with one another.

As the fire crackled and the stars shone overhead, we watched new connections form, stories be shared, and community grow. We’re grateful for the opportunity to practice hospitality in a simple way and create a space where people could come together and be encouraged.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We left this weekend feeling thankful and reminded that some of life’s sweetest moments happen around a table. 🤍🌿

Purpose without heart runs dry.
The way you work matters just as much as the work itself.

Lead with care. Build with intention. Let it mean something.

A healthy pig is a happy pig 🐷🌿

One important part of raising pasture-raised pigs is staying ahead of parasites and mites. That’s why we regularly deworm our herd to help keep them healthy, comfortable, and growing strong 🤝

This tool is called a Slapshot, and it makes the process quick and efficient while we’re out in the pasture. A little preventative care goes a long way when it comes to animal health ❤️🌾

People think farm life is butterflies and daisies 🦋🌼

Reality? Pigs screaming for breakfast, nonstop chores, and a little bit of chaos 🐷😂

Wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Why does pasture-raised pork taste better? 🐷🌿

Sunshine, fresh forage, nutrient-rich soil, and plenty of room to move all play a role. The biggest difference? Movement. Stronger muscles mean more flavor on your plate.

It’s the way pork was meant to be raised—and tasted.

Purpose isn’t passive.

It’s in the doing the feeding, the fixing, the showing up again tomorrow.

Diligence builds something you can stand on.

This past weekend, our farm had the incredible privilege of serving the The Feast Under the Stars at the Wild God Survival Weekend via a fire dining experience!

What a blessing it was to be the hands and feet of Jesus through biblical hospitality—welcoming, serving, and sharing a meal with so many amazing people. There is something deeply powerful about gathering around a table together. As the fire crackled and the stars shone overhead, we watched strangers become friends, stories be shared, laughter ring out, and genuine fellowship take root.

Food has always been more than nourishment; it is an invitation into community. Throughout Scripture, some of life's most meaningful moments happened around a table, and this weekend was a beautiful reminder of that truth. We were honored to be apart of creating a space where people could slow down, connect, and experience the love of Christ through simple acts of service and hospitality.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to Creek Stewart for using us! Watching fellowship, faith, and love come together over a shared meal is a great joy. We left this weekend grateful, encouraged, and reminded that even the simplest offerings, when given to God, can become something truly special.
