It started with 3 Schlimgen girls in blue shirts headed to the barn to do chores. It ended with calf wrestling, a few bruises, some scrapes, and ALOT of manure, everywhere. Hope couldn't even take the after picture before she took a shower!

What does a snowstorm in March mean for farmers? A little more work, chores take a little (or lots) longer, and baby calves that are born need a little more attention. This little cutie was born during the snow storm and needed to get dried off and spend some time warming up. After a short nap and donning her calf jacket she went back out with her mama. Happy to report that baby and mama are doing just fine.

Today I am especially appreciative of Dreamy 280’s store customers! A long-time customer who came to the store today told me that it was his birthday and that he wanted to come here because the Dreamy 280 store is one of his favorite places. Gosh, thank you! During the doldrums of calving season, I needed to hear that, and it means so much to me!
What started as a “let’s just try it” effort has turned into a meat market business. On crazy busy days like today I need to say, THANK YOU for shopping locally and supporting our family farm!! We are profoundly grateful for our customers!
