Southampton Sport Horses is devoted to providing breeding, training and sales of young thoroughbreds We have a large 60 foot state of the art round pen.

FACILITIES:
We are located at a very lovely and unique facility in Bluemont VA. Here we have a extravagant 8 stall barn, 15 beautiful acres with a large outdoor and a pond as well as the cross country course and 20 meter state of the art round pen. The barns 8 stalls have dutch doors out the back and finished oak walls comprised of refurbished fence boards. There is a heated tack room, feed/laundr

y room and an office with a bathroom. The barn also contains a wash stall and a small indoor riding area good for lunging, riding, and turn out during bad weather. Outside we have 5 well cultivated pastures with 3 run-in sheds, a large arena, a state of the art round pen as well as a pond. Dispersed throughout the pastures, we have a cross country course equipped with over 40 beginner/novice level jumps. The large outdoor arena has a bluestone base and is well set up for both jumping and dressage. It has a mixture of bluestone and sand footing as well as a slanted knee guard designed for working with anything from yearlings and starting youngsters under to natural horsemanship with your everyday horse. Our training program focuses on the early stages of development from foaling to breaking. Its not the European style or the American style but the adoption of experience and best practices of successful breeders, trainers and veterinarians. It builds on the psychology, sensitivity and patience of the interactions with the Horse. Imprint – Foaling to Weaning
Natural Development
Under Saddle – 3-4 years

Specializing in early imprinting, weaning, handling and starting 2 year olds with natural training techniques. Advanced 60 day introductory training for competition through partnerships with FEI/USEF Professionals. BREEDING
The foundation sire and mare of our breeding program is the stallion Palme City (diseased in 2007) Trakehner and Sound of Trumpets, Thoroughbred mare. Their first offspring was a bay c**t in 2010, a registered Trakehner, currently matured to 16.2h and entering advanced training. In 2013 we acquired another TB mare, Leotine by Lion Hearted and was bred to the Dutch Warmblood, Consul. In June 2014 Leontine foaled filly named Joyful June. In 2104 we added an 8 year old 16h gray TB mare Go Seek. Our plan for 2015 includes a breed back to Consul to Leontine, a Selle Francais to be decided to Go Seek and Sound of Trumpets to Trakehner Palme City. Our program for 2015 also includes the sale of 17.h gray Takehner stallion Palme City’s frozen semen. FOUNDER
Our founder, Bryant Dunetz is a life long horseman who brings his experience in the equestrian world of more than 60 years. It started out at the age of 12 in his native Brooklyn, New York. There a livery horse could be rented for $2 per hour for a hack in Prospect park where he rode with his best friend. His resume covers the gambit of equestrian activities from Western to English, from riding to driving to racing, from pony club to tent pe***ng and polo crosse and fox hunting, to founding and operating the Southampton Horse Center in Bel Air, Maryland. You might say that this venture is a rebirth of the former stable or a life long passion to apply this experience to breeding and the people who care about horses. The goal is to have a vibrant, successful stable that is recognized as a leader in winning and customer satisfaction with application of the best practices in developing healthy equine superb athletes. Southampton Sport Horses, LLC has also been formed to create successful partnerships among equine enthusiasts and owners in three primary competitive Olympic equine sports. This will be accomplished through best of pedigree breeding, acquiring, training and showing talented, Warmbloods and Thoroughbreds in Grand Prix, Dressage, Jumping and Eventing.

Magnesite aka Mags is a 7 year old, 15.3hh OTTB. His advanced beginner owner has decided that Mags is destined for more than walk/trot rides. Mags is a sweetheart on the ground. Long but fun day at Redgate Farm on Sunday. 3
Year old off the track, Motor, went to his first horse show. Wow did he take everything in stride! He placed in the poles and cross rails and put in a clear round in the 18”! (Check out the last photo of him clearing the panel😂)

4 year old Sandfly accompanied Motor as a buddy and also handled the show environment like a pro! Plus all of the kids loved petting on him throughout the day!

Alexa and Ginny showed in the 2’ and 2’3” classes putting in clear rounds!

Anna is available! Coming 9 year old Percheron/Tb cross standing at 17hh. Anna is a forward ride that loves to jump anything inside and outside of the arena! She has done local horse shows as well as foxhunted several times with Loudoun Fairfax Hunt and Newmarket Hunt several seasons ago. Anna is sweet and easy to handle on the ground but not for a beginner. She is happy to live out 24/7 and gets along great with other horses. 20,### located in Bluemont, Va

Julie B Mine is looking for a new zip code. She’s a 16.1hh 10 year old OTTB. After retiring from the track, Julie has had several beautiful babies! She is easy on the ground, great for farrier, baths, trailering. Barefoot and out 24/7. Julie is green broke and can be taken any direction! Christina is back in the show ring after 20+ years! She was aboard her daughters horse, Carson!

It was a great weekend for Michelle Marquardt’s “Macho” at the Anne Kursinski clinic with Meagan in the irons! The pair got a few pointers to work on but most of all, a load of compliments!

8 year old 16.2hh Carson is happy to step down for an intermediate rider or step up to jump around the more advanced rider! Waiting for his perfect Hunter or Jumper rider. Available to be tried for on or off site lease.

Carson is still available to be tried for lease! 8 year old 16.2hh chrome TB! Carson showed at the A rated hunters this year with a Junior at 3’. But he is also happy to step down for an intermediate rider, happily trotting and cantering small courses. Easy to handle, kick ride in the ring with lead change. Below is a video of Carson flatting and jumping with intermediate rider getting back to jumping for the first time in 20+ years! Hacks out great , was a novice level eventer with his previous owner. Flexible lease term available. Videos jumping higher and advanced flatting available.

The foals were weaned from their mothers today and joined Tarble in the big field!

Great day yesterday at the farm. Tarble is learning to jump, Macho and Woodrow both took turns schooling the gymnastics!

Sweetie was full of it tonight! She also appears to be much quicker than her brother Mars 😁

Uncle Woodrow is available! 10 year old 16.1-16.2hh Ottb looking for his next partner! Woodrow is schooling over fences and lovely to flat but will require a soft hand and a rider to give him confidence! He has the best canter in the barn! Woodrow lives out 24/7 and he’s barefoot. Price will increase with training.

Very proud of Stormy on his first ever adventure off the farm 🙂 he braved the jump chute and he has lots to learn! If anyone is looking for a 16.2hh+ coming 4 year old Trakehner, he is for sale!

Nice to see the horses do something besides stand around all day!

5 weeks off from riding for a little winter vacation and Koda is back in action ...did I mention it’s 20mph gusting winds and freezing out?! Even had to put poles up on every wing standard to keep them from constantly blowing down! What a Champ!

Koda bear had a great time at the Martin Douzant jump chute clinic yesterday!

Great fun watching Macho jump chute with the Frame Sport Horses this afternoon!

Late post but we are so proud of Koda at his 3rd horse show and with a new rider! He laid down great over fences and pulled out a 3rd place in the flat against 15 riders! Thank you Briana Kenerson for giving him the best rides!
