Because farm life doesn’t shut down.

Not for wind.
Not for ice.
Not for “historic snowfall.”

There are mouths to feed.
Pens to bed.
Troughs to break.
Animals counting on you.

They don’t care about the weather report.

They just look for their person.

And every time…
show up.

Before daylight.
Before coffee.
Before the roads are safe.

Break ice.
Drag hoses that don’t want to move.
Carry feed with numb hands and frozen fingers.

Prayers for every farmer, rancher, and stock show family out there showing up no matter what.

Eloise (aka Ellie, center) and Stormy (right) enjoying a fresh pasture move together this morning. Stormy is her first calf and is a sweet little thing. Whenever we are in the pasture, these 2 aren't far away from each other.

Red Hill Dexter Farm 's Eloise brought us her first calf and our first calf for the season! Both are doing well. She practiced being a good momma last calf season, so I'm sure this little one will do just fine

Somewhere in this jungle is a herd of happy Dexters! You can just see Red Hill Dexter Farm Eloise here navigating through looking for the sweetest bite of fresh grass! They have a lot of mowing left ahead of them!

Installed a couple of nucs today in the bee yard. I don't bother to read instructions, but I thought I saw a Youtube video said that it is important that they drink heavily their first few months so they grow up to be a strong hive. Bottoms up!

Little Bailey spent a good part of the day on the wrong side of the pasture fence. Momma was calling us for a little help when we were getting ready to do evening chores. When we got down to the pasture, Bailey was napping outside the fence and Momma was pacing impatiently on the inside of the fence. After they were reunited, Bailey enjoyed a big gulp of milk.

Red Hill Dexter Farm Eloise stops to check in on the one day old bull calf Jameson. This was a pile of wood chips when we moved them into this paddock. The pile lasted about 2.5 minutes and the herd leveled it off for little Jameson to lay in.
