☀️🌱 Florida summer? Keep the soil covered.

We’re growing sorghum-sudangrass and sunn h**p as summer cover crops—and they’re doing a lot more than just filling space.

🌾 Outcompeting and suppressing weeds
🌱 Building biomass and organic matter
🦠 Feeding soil biology
☀️ Protecting the soil from the Florida heat and heavy rains
🌎 Keeping living roots in the ground

Sometimes the best thing you can grow isn’t a crop you harvest—it’s a crop that builds the soil for what comes next.

It all starts with a seed. 🌱

Today we officially sowed the first seed trays of the season, and the nursery is coming back to life! These tiny seeds are the beginning of everything we’ll be growing this autumn—from the vegetables in our fields to the plants you’ll find at our Autumn Plant Sale.

Every tray on the potting bench is a reminder that another season of fresh food, beautiful plants, and hard work is underway.

If you’ve been thinking about joining our CSA, now is the perfect time! Our CSA shares are the best way to enjoy a season of fresh, locally grown produce while supporting your local farm from seed to harvest.

We’re excited for all that’s ahead and can’t wait to grow with you this season. 🍂💚

On our travels to North Carolina we connected with 3barnfarms 🐓 *Who are also in the Certified Naturally Grown network!* It was so fun and inspiring to visit and meet farmers; Alex & Katie! It was fun to visit in July and see them in the MIDDLE of their season. As we are currently on our summer break! Ahhh growing with the seasons! Loved to see their honor system farm stand, farm procedures, poultry & cattle operation, see the deep roots they have in their community & what a positive impact they are making! Our old chef boss (from the former smiling bison 🦬) Josh Oakley sources from them for his restaurant; C U L T U R E It’s so refreshing to see farmer and community working so seamlessly together. Sourcing local is just a normal way of LIFE there! We were also able to go eat at culture 🤩 We had a completely delicious & locally sourced meal. Lots of nodes to the old smiling bison- which we loved. Our kids loved the sourdough pizza most of all 😂🍕Grateful for the connections we made in WNC! We are already looking forward to returning⛰️

Our family took a roadtrip this July and was able to spend two days & nights at White Oak Pastures 🐮 It was so inspiring to speak & ride along with, the MAN- Will Harris. Seeing regenerative agriculture on THIS scale was so inspiring and confirming. He and his team are truly revitalizing an entire community. From conventional farming to GIVING A DAMN. Their general store is so cozy to shop and dine at. Such a fun experience and we’re already so excited for our next return. If you’re driving through southern GA this is a great place to stop for lunch & a tour! 🐷🌱

The season is officially taking shape. 🌱📦

Our seed deliveries have arrived, the crop plan is finalized, and the field map is ready. Months of planning go into deciding what we’ll grow, where everything will be planted, and when each crop will be ready.

Every year, it never stops amazing me that these little boxes filled with tiny seeds will grow into fields full of vegetables that nourish so many families in our community. It’s a reminder that something so small can become something truly abundant.

Now the real work begins, and we couldn’t be more excited for the season ahead.

Our CSA memberships are open! When you join our CSA, you’re supporting our farm from the very beginning and enjoying a season of fresh, locally grown vegetables.

If you’d like to share in this season’s harvest, we’d love to have you. Sign up through the link in our bio! 💚

Another season wrapped! 🎉 It’s such a blessing to be able to steward this land and live out our dream. (Even though some days/seasons are really hard) It’s an honor to serve our Orlando community and we are SO grateful to each of you, near or far! As we take our summer break- things on the farm will slow down but nature never stops! We’ll be planting, managing the agroforestry systems, crop planning, building & organizing + more for this upcoming season! October will be here before we know it. 🍁Truly, we couldn’t do this without the support of our community- so, from our family to yours, THANK YOU. Thank you for an incredible season! We are so excited for 2026/2027!!! Many blessings!! 🙏🫶
