PUBLIC SAFETY UPDATE –
ACTIVE WILDFIRE & EVACUATION INFORMATION

Harney County Emergency Management continues to monitor multiple active wildfires impacting Harney County. Fire conditions remain dynamic, and evacuation levels may change with little notice.
Residents are strongly encouraged to sign up for emergency notifications at ORAlert.gov and continue monitoring official sources for the latest updates.

CURRENT EVACUATION LEVELS
LEVEL 3 – GO NOW
Second Flat Fire: Hines & Burns Area
•Areas south of Emigrant Creek Road, including the 47 Road and Radar Lane, north of West Monroe Street, and north of Burns Benchmark.
•Willow Flats.
•Bald Mountain Fire
•From the intersection of Highway 78 and East Steens Road, south to Mann Creek Lane.
Residents in Level 3 areas should leave immediately. Do not delay.
LEVEL 2 – GET SET
•Ridge Court
•Bardwell Avenue
•King Avenue
•Duke Court
•Knight Drive
•King Court
•Hines Court
•The area north of Highway 20, east of Sagehen
•Sage Avenue
•Choate Avenue
•Sunset Avenue
•The area west of Highway 395 North, north of Highway 20, including Eben Ray Road, Turnout Road, and Lone Pine Road
Residents in Level 2 areas should pack essential belongings, prepare livestock and pets for transport, and be ready to leave at a moment's notice.
LEVEL 1 – BE READY
Hines & Burns Area:
•Canyon Road
•Squire Drive
•Dapple Grey
•Hines
•Shelton Avenue
•Lottery Lane north to the Burns city limits
•From the Burns-Hines city limits north to Foley Road and east to South Egan Avenue
•Areas north of Highway 20 and east of Sage Hen Road through Miller Canyon at Riley
•Bald Mountain Fire
•South of the Level 3 evacuation area, east of East Steens Road, extending south to the Alvord Desert. This evacuation area borders Malheur County.
The Level 1 notice is being issued as a precaution so residents are aware of fire activity in the area and are prepared should conditions worsen.

IMPORTANT REMINDER
Burns proper and Hines proper are not currently under a Level 3 evacuation notice.

SHELTER INFORMATION
An evacuation shelter has been established at:
Crane High School
43277 Crane-Venator Road
Crane, Oregon
Approximately one-half acre is available to accommodate livestock.

INFORMATION RESOURCES
A 211 Information Line has been established to provide non-emergency information, resources, and assistance to residents affected by the fires. Additional details will be shared as soon as the service is available.
Fire information will be posted around town at various locations. We also have information at https://harneycountyor.gov/wildfire-updates/ that we are working to update.
Please continue to monitor official updates from Harney County Emergency Management, the Harney County Sheriff's Office, Burns Fire Department, and 2026 Burns Basin Fires.
Conditions can change rapidly. Stay alert, stay prepared, and if your area is upgraded to a higher evacuation level, follow evacuation instructions immediately. Your safety is our highest priority.
