M O N S I M P E R A T O R I S

Latin for “Emperor’s Mountain,” Mons Imperatoris is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, Clone 7 from one of Pritchard Hill’s most coveted vineyard sites, the Martinez Vineyard. Only two winemakers have access to this exclusive 16 acre site, making these wines both rare and exceptional. The Martinez Vineyard is on the southwest facing slope of the mountain, just above the fog line and directly overlooking the Oakville AVA. Surrounded by first-growth caliber vineyards, it lays within the trifecta of western Pritchard Hill; an intersection between Ovid, Houyi, and Montagna vineyards. Think of this vineyard site as the perfect nexus of elevation, sun exposure, and iron rich minerality. A high-pedigree vineyard producing bold, precise wines with structure, fine tannins, and lush fruit.

10-YEAR LIBRARY RELEASE

Great things come to those who wait, and that is just what the 2015 Houyi Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is… GREAT!!! This beautiful wine has been perfectly cellared, and just in time for the holidays. Thomas has been patiently waiting for this particular vintage to reach its 10-year mark, and the wine is sooooo satisfying! Blessed with elegant aromatics and satiating fruit, with silky tannins that are seamlessly integrated with texture and balance, and that long sweet finish we all love from this Pritchard Hill icon. The best part is you don’t have to wait hours to decant and enjoy this beauty, just pop the cork and enjoy (although if you give it a solid 30 minutes of breathing, it’s even better).

We brought in Cabernet Sauvignon at sunrise this morning, from three different vineyards. Today’s challenge is to get it all in the winery before the rains come!

Outstanding quality… 2025 will be another classic vintage for Napa Valley.

Our Cabernet Franc from Upper Range Vineyards continues to ripen beautifully…

This hillside vineyard, on the northern border of Pritchard Hill, will likely be our last pick of the 2025 harvest. Still a few weeks away, but so far it has been a stellar growing season!
