Seventeen years ago today, we said “I do.”

A lot has happened since: two beautiful children, life in three different states, and a new chapter here in Texas. But the best part hasn’t changed: we still get to do this together.

Grateful for the life we’ve built and for the chance to share a little of it with y'all at Missick Cellars.

BOERNE’S NEWEST W**ERY JUST WON ONE OF TEXAS’ TOP W**E HONORS 🍷

Missick Cellars has only been pouring w**e at its new Boerne tasting room since late August, and it already has something pretty big to celebrate. Missick Cellars

The w**ery’s 2023 Petite Sirah was selected for the 2026 Texas Vintners Cup, an annual competition that recognizes just 12 w**es from across Texas.

The winning w**es are chosen through a blind tasting by an expert panel, and Missick Cellars was the only San Antonio-area w**ery to make this year’s list.

Owners Chris and Laure Missick opened their tasting room at 941 N. School Street on August 28 after relocating to the Boerne area from New York’s Finger Lakes w**e region, where Chris spent more than a decade making w**e.

And this isn’t their first recent recognition. Their 2024 Texas High Plains Viognier earned Best in Class at the 2026 San Francisco Chronicle W**e Competition, while their 2023 Texas Dry Riesling earned Double Gold there in 2025.

Not a bad first month in Boerne. 🍷

Missick Cellars has barely had time to set out the glasses at its new Boerne tasting room before needing to break out the bubbles. The newcomer has been named the only San Antonio-area winner of the Texas Vintners Cup, one of the state's most prestigious w**e competitions.

We are thrilled to share that our 2023 Petite Sirah has been named one of twelve “Best in Texas” w**es in the 2026 Texas Vintners Cup!

Chosen in a blind tasting by a panel of w**e professionals, including w**e journalist Jessica Dupuy and Master Sommeliers Jack Mason and Craig Collins, this w**e is 100% Texas fruit, from Triple D Vineyard in the High Plains.

The award, a custom belt buckle fabricated by Trailblazer Custom Silversmith, was presented last week at the State Fair of Texas Preview Night by Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller.

We moved here to make delicious w**es that taste of this place. Earning the Vintners Cup this early in our Texas journey is a testament to how seriously we take producing high-quality, 100% Texas w**es.

Come taste the w**e that earned the buckle (while it lasts!) and the rest of the Texas lineup with it.

Finished with just a hint of residual sugar, this rosé is versatile and goes from the dinner table to the front porch without breaking a sweat.

Today, we remember September 11, 2001.

We remember the lives taken that morning, the courage of first responders, and the families who still grieve. We also remember those who have since died, and those who still suffer, from illnesses born of the terrorist attacks.

May the Lord comfort those who mourn, heal those who suffer and strengthen those whose lives were shattered that day.

Grateful to Jeff Cope and Texas W**e Lover for visiting and telling the story of our new home in Boerne.
The tasting room is open (Fridays & Saturdays from 11 to 6 | extended hours end of September / early October).

The w**es on the list are 100% Texas. And the space was designed for w**e enthusiasts and families alike (coloring sheers inside, playground outside!).
