I’ve had several people reach out to me recently asking if 3 Birds Homestead is the bakery that’s rumored to be coming to Idaho City, so I figured I should probably clear that up.
Nope — that bakery is not 3 Birds Homestead, even though many of you know that’s what I was working towards. 😊
I’ll admit, there are definitely some mixed feelings that come with that. I’ve been baking, selling, and building my business in this community for a long time. I’ve worked hard to build a good reputation, establish relationships, support the community, and create something that people know and trust.
So naturally, hearing about an opportunity like this being given to someone else was a little disappointing. I would have loved the chance to be part of something like that, especially after the years I’ve spent building my business and being part of this community.
And just to be clear, this isn’t me saying that someone else shouldn’t have the opportunity. I wish them success, and I truly hope they do well. I’m a small business owner myself, and I know how exciting it can be to have a new opportunity come your way.
In fact, I was even asked at one point if I would be interested in having someone reach out to the new bakery owner about possibly collaborating with 3 Birds Homestead. I said absolutely. I thought that would be wonderful. I’m always happy to find ways to work with other local businesses and support one another.
That was the last I heard about it, so I figured it was probably time to simply clear up the confusion since I have been getting inquires from many of you.
I’m not going to pretend I’m not a little disappointed, but I also don’t think disappointment has to mean bitterness. Sometimes you can be happy for someone else while also wishing you had been given the same opportunity.
I’m proud of what I’ve built with 3 Birds Homestead, and I’m grateful for every person who has supported me along the way. ❤️
I’ll continue doing what I love — baking & making from scratch, creating unique flavors, trying new things, supporting local, and growing my business one batch at a time. 🧁🌿

No, the rumored Idaho City bakery isn’t 3 Birds Homestead.
But don’t worry — I’m still here & have some exciting plans I’m working towards. On to the next chapter! 😉❤️
