MEET THE OWNER (PT.2)

Hello Lefse lovers!

My name is John Riley, and I have the privilege of being one of the owners of Loving Lefse. Growing up, Angeline and I would roll out lefse from scratch every year, and it was always my favorite day. At the center of it all was my nana, who perfected the recipes we still enjoy today. We wouldn’t be doing this without her❤️

A little bit about me: Outside of Loving Lefse, I enjoy running, playing golf, camping, listening to music, and spending time with my people. Anyone close to me knows I love Star Wars, marvel, and especially Batman. I’ve always had a passion for entrepreneurship, so when the opportunity came to turn our family tradition into a business, I jumped at the chance.

College brought me to Boise five years ago, and I couldn’t be more grateful for it. I attended Boise State University, where I studied Marketing and minored in Entrepreneurship. The knowledge and skills I gained there played a huge role in helping me pursue this dream.

During college, I also worked part-time in restaurants, which gave me valuable experience in the food and hospitality industry. When Angeline and I decided that Boise was the perfect place to build our business, she packed up and moved here so we could chase our dream together.

After plenty of hard work, challenges, and lessons learned along the way, we launched our food trailer and the rest is history!

Being part of the journey to opening our storefront has been an absolute dream come true. As a kid, I never expected our humble family tradition to grow into what it is today.

I cannot express how grateful I am to the Boise community for welcoming us with open arms and supporting our small business. Being able to introduce lefse to people who have never had it before has been incredibly rewarding, and we couldn’t do it without all of you.

Thank you for helping us share this tradition with new generations and new cultures.
