Big Shout-Out to Bob Cooley
A few months ago, Bob brought us a local oyster mushroom he found growing right here in Idaho. We started by taking a spore print and making a tissue transfer to agar to clean up the culture. After two additional agar transfers, the culture was ready for grain. From grain, it moved to substrate, and now we have this local variety fruiting right here in the shop!
It's always exciting to see a wild local specimen make the journey from the forest to cultivation. Here are photos documenting the process over the last couple of months.
