Farm Stand 344 West Street, Bolton, CT bouquets mid April-June + Preorder arrangements, Wedding & event flowers, wholesale, DIY buckets. I am a 3rd generation farmer. In 1932 my grandparents Fred & Dorothy Luck purchased our beautiful farm located in Bolton, CT. The land had been previously used to farm raspberries, apples and peaches. Piece by piece they built their post and beam style barn and t

hen their farm house, which we live in today. From the 30’s to the early 70’s my grandparents and parents raised turkeys, capons, cattle and chickens. My grandfather sold Turkey’s as “Luck and Sons Turkeys” and my parents raised and sold capons. They also sold eggs to many local customers and stores, and bartered with the local lumber yard…eggs for lumber! We have always hayed our land for our own use and for sale. For years we have partnered with a local farm that is part of the “Farmers Cow” Co-op in Eastern CT. Our family has always used our land, but we moved away from traditional farming and held other jobs. I did the flowers and decor for my wedding in 2016 and my daughter’s wedding in 2019 and I grew most of the Dahlias for her wedding. Something happened to me during that growing season. I realized I had found my passion and a way to really utilize our farm. I have been a longtime gardener and my mother and I have a huge perennial garden that has a plethora of wonderful flowers and foliage. My friend Lisa, who has a small flower farm in Massachusetts, also inspired me to grow flowers. When I asked her to grow some dahlias for my daughter’s wedding she encouraged me to grow some of them myself. Those dahlias and that growing season changed me. Lisa showed me that I could do what I love and share that passion with others. As my husband, Alan coined, “It was time to “grab the flower by the stem” and go for it! Luck of Bolton Farm, LLC was established in October 2019! My father Fred Luck is a retired sign painter & pinstriper. He always signed his work “More Good by Luck of Bolton”, hence the name. A tribute to my family name. Roadside Self-Serve Stand-344 West Street, Bolton, CT 06043

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Heidi Luck, the founder and owner of Luck of Bolton Farm. Heidi passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning.

Six years ago, she left her corporate job to follow her dream and start Luck of Bolton Farm in October 2019. She poured her love, sweat, and tears into the farm. Heidi truly loved what she did and was happiest when she was among her flowers.

We know Heidi had many plans for this holiday season, including her annual Holiday Sale and wreath-making classes. We are working to contact everyone who may have signed up for a class in the coming weeks, to issue refunds. The sale and all upcoming wreath classes will be canceled. We are also reaching out to any 2026 brides who may have booked with Heidi, to refund any deposits already paid. If you signed up for a wreath class or are a 2026 bride and would like to reach out directly, please contact her daughterJenna, at 860-490-1654.

To Heidi’s fellow flower farmers and local farming friends — we would love to connect with you as we make plans for Heidi’s 2026 flowers and the future of the farm. You may also reach out to Jenna at 860-490-1654.

We ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this difficult time. If you have any questions related to the farm or services you have booked, please reach out to Jenna.

We take comfort in imagining Heidi surrounded by flowers, listening to Christmas songs, and making wreaths with the same care and joy she always did. Her spirit will live on in every petal, garden, and heart she touched.

With love,
Heidi’s husband, Alan Potter & daughter, Jenna Luck Gagnon
