When the barn doors close on a Sunday evening β¦ ππ§‘
Thereβs a moment, at the end of a busy fall weekend, when the farm finally grows quiet.
The clatter of baking pans. The hum of conversation spilling through the Country Store. Our wonderful young bakery crew calling out donut orders. Children laughing as they run through the orchard.
And then, slowly, the stillness of an October evening settles in.
Itβs in that quiet that weβre reminded just how much there is to be grateful for.
Today, we welcomed the French Bulldog Rescue Network and what seemed like a million adorable Frenchies! Behind all those sweet faces were people working to give dogs in need the love, care, and second chances they deserve.
Our friends at Squirrel β A Dog Bistro were here, too, serving gourmet treats made with apples theyβd picked at our farm with their own rescue dog. β€οΈ
And just last weekend, Wheat + Water Crafted Doughz returned with an incredible gourmet pizza featuring apples theyβd purchased from our farm stand.
Little things, perhaps. But to us, they mean so much.
Because thatβs how community works, isnβt it?
You show up for someone. They show up for you. You share what you have, celebrate what others create, and find ways, big and small, to help each other grow.
A farm is so much more than the land it sits on or the fruit and vegetables it produces.
Itβs the people who work here. The families who return year after year. The local businesses that become friends. The volunteers giving their time to causes they believe in. And the neighbors who are simply trying to put a little more good into the world.
We see it. We feel it. And we never take it for granted.
So tonight, as we turn the OPEN sign to CLOSED, with tired feet and full hearts, we want to say something very simple.
Thank you.
For showing up. For supporting us and one another. And for being part of this little corner of the world weβre so fortunate to share with you.
