We have SO MANY new followers this week after my video of SHEZ A COOL RENEGADE, āReniā, caught a lot of attention with her ripping and romping and her sweet whinnyš¤ I am beyond grateful that you are here and want to reintroduce myself.
I am a farmer and cowboys daughter who skipped school as a kid to come home and ride horses. Then I grew up and life happened and I did not have horses for the better part of 25 years untilā¦ my sweet and spunky girl, Lila, pulled me back in. At 6 and 7 and 8 she wanted nothing more than to be a horse girl. We paid for lessons and camps and got her on a horse every chance we got until finally we broke down and bought 2 horses so we could ride together. Things have transpired pretty quickly since then š
My poor husband (not a horse guy) is holding on for dear life and mostly a great sport and supporter.
I like to go big or go home so last fall I decided I wanted to get a couple of brood mares and have babiesš¤© So fun right?!? My Dad had a APHA breeding operation for years, really throughout my whole childhood, so what would seem insane to others didnāt seem like such a stretch.
THAT is how we came to have sweet Reni. She is the first foal at Seven Oaks and has been so much fun. Weāve learned a ton together, spent countless hours together and she has turned out to be the best girl!!! My goal was and is to sell her but every day that she stays makes it harder.
I am very much a go with the journey kind of girl and right now the journey is leading me to show this filly in halter in hopes that we find a great show home for her. She is gorgeous and correct and sweet and mostly well behaved for a baby and I feel like I owe it to her to give her her best shot at a good life and home. We have given her the best feed, hay, exercise, you name it. By accident, Iām learning a lot about the halter worldš¤
In addition to Reni, we have:
SHEZ MISTER TE COOL āRebaā a TE Coolest mare who is bred to Big Rich And Lazy for a March foal. Reba is the matriarch and Reniās amazing mama.
FANCY LIKE DIAMONDS āFancyā an Evincible mare who is bred to Formality at Hill Haven Appaloosas for an April foal.
AND
SHEZ GOT SOL āScarlettā a Solaris 2 year filly who is turning out to be more than I could have dreamed. She is gorgeous but also a very kind and willing partner in the saddle. We are spending lots of time together (usually every morning at 5am!) but Iām also taking it slow and trying to give her the time and space to mature.
My daughter rides an amazing gelding, CHARLIE COLORED ME āBensonā and is, at 12, already a better rider than Iāve ever been. Iām living my best show mom life!
Iām having a blast. A sweaty, dirt under my fingernails, ache in my back blast!! We will see which way the wind blows us and how far we go. For now, THANK YOU for joining the journey! Your follow is so greatly appreciated!
