Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! This is going to be a great FREE event for our community! If you have a student in the Bon Secour area that needs clothes for school, we have lots of gently used and new items to choose from! Clothes, shoes, and some accessories!

I realize being outside in south Alabama right now is like walking on the surface of the sun, BUT we had shrimp in the freezer and fresh okra from Grandma’s garden so we just had to have gumbo! 😋 ((honestly I love summer! Shrimp and garden veggies make me happy!!))

Now before y’all ask - not all gumbos are created equally and we don’t follow a recipe. The secret is in the roux then it’s up to you after that. My all time fav is my Mama’s shrimp and crabmeat gumbo.

With that being said! We have jumbo frozen tails available! Perfect for grilling on the 4th!

This week we want to give a shoutout to Lacey Skipper at Skipper Girl Balloon Co.! We have worked on several events together and watching her create these arches is just amazing! We get it - dealing with shrimp can be a lot of work - so we’ve done the hard part for you! All of the shrimp we have left have been headed and frozen. Just waiting on you to bring them home!

Jumbos - $30 a bag
XL - $25 a bag

Q: How do we freeze our shrimp?

A: We weigh 5 pounds of shrimp with heads.
Pop the heads off.
Package flat in gallon ziplocks and freeze.
We do not use preservatives or additives on our shrimp.

Q: How many pounds are in each bag?

A: Each bag has a little over 3 pounds of tails.

As you know, the weather has been less than ideal for working on the water, so this is all we have for the time being. 🦐

⛈️ It was a rough ride this afternoon in the bay! If you listen close you can hear the windows rattling! We’ll have jumbo 12 count shrimp available tomorrow, June 17th. $6 per pound or $5.50 for 50+ pounds. We’re not sure how it’s going to go with this storm out in the Gulf so this may be all the fresh shrimp we have for a while so get em while they last! ☀️ Welcome to my new Summer Small Business Spotlight!
I got a LOT of compliments on my oyster earrings I was wearing yesterday! Elisabeth at Jubilee Clay of Bon Secour is my earring girl! She’s a local mom who hand-makes all the earrings from clay! Absolutely obsessed with everything she makes and I’m pretty sure I own at least one pair from every collection she drops! She even makes custom pieces. Thank y’all so much for coming by this week and getting shrimp from us! We appreciate you more than you know! As always we are closed on Sundays but we’ll be back at it tomorrow.
I wanted to share the pictures I was sent this week. Fellow shrimper Brent Buchanan sent the one of Nic working in the bay and our neighbor, Melissa Adams, caught him coming up the river yesterday. Thank you both for the awesome pictures!
