Back to School means back to basics at PGFF!

I can’t think of a more versatile meat cut to work with than ground beef, especially with busy week night meals during the school year.

🥓🐷Bacon is Back🐷🥓

We officially have pork bacon back in stock at the farm store!!!!

We are excited to now have peppered and Canadian bacon available too! All of these options are great on their own or when used for jalapeño poppers, pizzas, wrapped around PGFF filets, the options are unlimited!

Hey, hey, hey it’s Iowa State Fair Week!!!🎡🎟️ 🐮

We won’t have any livestock down at the fair this year (weird I know), but lucky for us our cousin Caden and his steer Gable will be there participating in the Iowa Governor’s Charity Steer Show.

So make sure to grab your favorite fair food and head over to the pavilion at 4:30pm this Saturday and support an amazing organization and some hard working Iowa farm kiddos!

Caden wanted to participate in the Governor’s Charity Steer Show because he wanted to do more for others through something that he already loves doing. He said he is looking forward to helping others during some of the toughest times of their lives by giving to the Ronald McDonald Houses. Almost everyone he has talked to has a connection to the Ronald McDonald House, including his dad, whose family used the house when he was born. Caden has been sharing his steer Gable’s journey to the show on their cattle operations page. Caden will be in sixth grade at Kuemper Catholic School in the fall. He has been showing cattle for five years. Caden is the son of Caleb and Megan Hopkins.

💚🤍Happy National Book Lovers Day🤍💚

I couldn’t think of a better day to announce my exciting new endeavor here at PGFF.

If you didn’t know, I am an avid reader and really wanted to find a way to encompass my two favorite things. I LOVE reading and I LOVE the farm. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate both other than a book club on the farm!

Books In the Barn will be a monthly book club held the fourth Sunday of each month from 5-7pm in the farm store. Light snacks will be provided and drinks will be BYOB.

Our first meeting will be September 27th and we will plan to discuss our most current reads before picking a book selection for October.

All adult (18+) readers are welcome!

The rodeo is both Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.

Y’all we did it…..our first born is officially married!

It was a beautiful ceremony and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. I want to thank everyone for all of their well wishes and excitement over the past year. I know if you’ve stopped into the farm store at any point I’ve definitely yapped to you about wedding prep and all the feelings that go along with it.
We are feeling very blessed to have gained such a wonderful daughter-in-law and to see our boy so happy.

Here’s to many joyous and loving years to the new couple🥂♥️
