We feed our chickens their own eggs & egg shells in their treat bowls for extra nutrients. And if you have a baby chick that’s not doing so well, feeding it egg yolk can help boost it back to health quickest (where all these comments came from lol)
A chicken egg does not turn into a baby chicken until it is both fertilized and incubated - a chicken eating its own egg is not cannibalism 😂 I’d consider it the equivalent of any animal eating its own placenta. The egg yolk provides all the nutrition in order to grow an entire baby chick….same with placentas…think about that! Pretty cool stuff ❤️
