This morning’s bounty….

Despite my flower rows looking horrific because of this ridiculous heat, somehow these beauties keep pumping out! I’m very thankful that I’m getting enough flowers to fill my subscriptions each weekend. Counting down the days until this heat breaks!

This week, we took my son on his senior trip to Boston to watch the Red Sox play the Yankees at Fenway Park (which was amazing btw!).
While we were in Boston, we also visited the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. One of the exhibits focused on nature, and as I walked through it, I found myself stopping to read the descriptions beside many of the paintings. Their words really spoke to me and took me back to something I hadn't thought about in a long time- why I first started growing flowers more than 25 years ago.
I've always joked that "playing in the dirt is my therapy." After reading through the descriptions at the museum, I reflected on the truth of that- when I step into the garden, everything seems to slow down. I become completely calm and at ease, and the worries and stresses of everyday life begin to fade away.
Even though we didn't get home until late last night, I was out in the flower field by 6:30 this morning, excited to see how everything had grown while we were gone and to cut flowers for this week's subscriptions. As I was gathering blooms, I couldn't stop thinking about what I had read at the museum.
God has created a world filled with incredible beauty. Sometimes we get so busy that we forget to slow down and notice it. Growing flowers has always reminded me to do just that. It's a chance to pause, appreciate His creation, and find a little peace in the middle of life's busyness.
Today, I wanted to share a little of that beauty with you. Along with photos of the flowers I cut this morning and some beautiful pictures my customers have shared (because they're much better at remembering to take photos than I am!), I'm also including a few of the paintings from the Museum of Fine Arts and the words that accompanied them. As I read those descriptions and then walked through my own flower garden this morning, I was amazed by how beautifully they connected. I hope they encourage you to slow down, see God's handiwork in a fresh way, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us every day.
I hope these flowers and artwork bring you a little joy today. Thank you for allowing me to do something I truly love and for supporting this little dream of mine. It means more than you know. 💜

My daughter got married at our house on May 30. Doing her flowers was such an awesome experience- beginning with picking seeds with Katie last fall to watching this vision come to fruition! 💜
