My family was traveling home from Tennessee after Thanksgiving when our truck started making a grinding sound every time we hit the brakes. We called Grays and the agreed to see us without hesitation. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and so accommodating. Their facility was immaculate. We were traveling with two small girls and they even had a kids corner. I would recommend them to anyone needing service.

When we first dreamed of starting a farm, we didn’t just imagine fields and trees—we envisioned something much deeper. A place where families could reconnect, where the chaos of life would pause, and where shared moments would become cherished memories. We called it “the Dinner Table Moment.” Growing up, my family gathered every evening around the table, sharing stories of the day, laughter, and treasured memories from years gone by. Those moments defined my childhood, and we wanted to recreate that magic for others. That dream became —a haven for family traditions and lasting bonds.

Our journey began with a blank canvas: a stretch of land in the heart of Holmes County, being auctioned by the Department of Agriculture. It wasn’t much to look at then—just soil, open sky, and potential. But we saw more. We saw the seeds of something extraordinary, and we leapt at the opportunity.

From the very start, it was an uphill climb. We dug a well, ensuring life-giving water would flow through the land, and laid down three miles of irrigation. Every step required research, hard work, and determination. We bush-hogged the wild growth, plowed the earth—once, then again—and hilled the soil to prepare it for the dream we carried in our hearts.

My father, lovingly known as Pepe, became our guiding force. Together, we began the painstaking work of planting. Every six to eight feet, we dug holes, enriched the soil with palm tree fertilizer, and nestled tiny seedlings into the ground. Each one was no more than six inches tall—a fragile promise of what might someday be towering, majestic Christmas trees. It was hard to imagine then, but we had faith.

Day after day, we labored. Rain soaked us, mud clung to our boots, and we battled storms, relentless ants, and curious deer. But we persevered. This wasn’t just about trees—it was about family. Our girls joined in, learning firsthand what it means to care for something alive. Together, we weeded, mowed, and trimmed, side by side, bonding over the work of nurturing life. Slowly, those tiny seedlings grew taller, and our vision began to take shape. The once-empty field transformed into a forest of 500 trees, each one a testament to hard work, patience, and love.

And now, nearly five years later, the dream stands before us—a vibrant, thriving testament to what can happen when a family unites behind a shared vision. Tonight, as we stood outside, gazing at the first plantings that have grown into majestic 15-foot trees, pride swelled in our hearts. These trees aren’t just trees; they’re symbols of resilience, teamwork, and the traditions we dreamed of creating. This year, for the first time, one of these trees will find its way home to a family—a piece of our dream becoming a part of someone else’s holiday memories.

Thank you, Pepe, for believing in the vision and for showing all of us what it means to fight for something beautiful. Together, we’ve built more than a farm—we’ve cultivated a legacy of love, family, and tradition.

We apologize but we will not be opening this fall for pumpkins and fall activities. Please note we are making a decision on Christmas events this winter soon.

This is so much more than a dish. It is a vivid reminder of my childhood and some of my favorite memories. My grandmother had this same style of blue cornflour Corning ware. Hers was bigger, but I was ecstatic when I found this smaller one. She has since gone to be with the Lord, but her memory lives on. When I see this dish, I can smell the gravy that she used to make for us every time she cooked breakfast. I can hear the laughs in my head and see the smiles on everyone faces as we passed the dish around the table. To some this is just another bowl, but to me it’s a gift !

Some of our favorite memories on the farm come from simple moments like this. I can remember shucking corn on my grandparents porch like it was yesterday. I’m so thankful we get the opportunity to teach our girls this same skill.

in·quis·i·tive
/inˈkwizədiv,iNGˈkwizədiv/
adjective
curious or inquiring.

There is something interesting about watching innocent babies. Whether innocent baby humans or baby animals there is something we can learn. You see while watching Storm, our baby goat, I noticed he was curious about the rabbits. Instead of staring from afar wondering what they were, he shoved his head up against the fence right in the face of the rabbit.
You see he was inquisitive, so he took a step to solve his questions. He wanted answers and knew those answers weren’t going to come from a far away place. He had to take steps to get answers.
I think the church can learn something from storms we have so many who have numerous inquisitive thought running through there heads. So many questions about this faith. Yet we remain in our far away spots staring at the situation from a distance. It’s time to step closer into Gods presence to get those inquisitive thought answered. We need to press our face up to Heaven to get the answers we desire!
