It is with great regret that we have had to get our start like this. I say start because this is not the end, this was only the beginning for us. As some of you have probably noticed by driving by we are no longer open and we have been cleaning out the building. We want to be as transparent as possible with everyone as far as what happened.
It all started August 4th 2022 when we came to look at the building, we had been referred by the owner himself to it and been given the price of rent at $750. The very next day we had deposit and first months rent in hand ready and excited to sign the lease. This is when we met with the Property Manager, she brought in the lease for us to sign and told us it would be $800 for deposit and $800 for rent. We argued with her but paid it because we wanted the building, she literally crossed out the $750 on the lease and wrote in $800. I spoke with the owner a couple days later and explained what happened and he made sure she understood the rent IS $750…🤦🏻♂️ so either she is really not smart or she tried to steal the extra money off the top, you can make your conclusions as to why she did it. The lease that she crossed out rent and hand wrote in her own figures was also only written for only 2 months even though Florida state law states any commercial lease must be written for a minimum of a year… then when the lease went out of term October 5th (3 days before rodeo) we had to argue and withhold rent from the property manager for days on end before she would bring us a new lease written to full term of a year.. the hot water heater went out and kept tripping the breaker for over 2 months we begged and pleaded with her to send an electrician out.. finally after the electrical panel caught fire, we had to shut down operation and withhold rent until repairs were finally made… the back door leaks water which is a big no no with health department was promised since day 1 that would be fixed, it still leaks… the plumbing backed up 2 months ago, it was determined that it was going to fall under their responsibility and she still made us pay her plumbing bill and then she eventually paid us back.. the day she came back she told me I was not allowed to have “all this personal property” on site, she was referring to my trucks and enclosed trailer. We informed her our landscape business is also registered under this address and that’s our equipment… since that little attack failed she tells us we have to send her our business insurance information so she has is it for her records.. I tell her I’m not required to carry insurance and she argues with me telling me oh no, you have, to have insurance by state law… finally after arguing back and forth I sent her the state statute that clearly states in Florida if you have less than 5 employees you are not required to carry insurance.. (I tell you this because I want you to understand how she lies about literally everything)
Every month when we were able to operate under normal conditions like having a lease and hot water, rent has always been paid on time.. couple weeks ago we receive a letter that The property management company will not be renewing our lease come October… and yes still not sure how ended up still getting stuck with an extra two months on my lease but anyways.. we all know a business doesn’t make money it’s first year, sometimes it’s the third year before profit.. we kind of figured that this was coming no shock we actually made them fix things! As some of you know we had a lady come in totally disrespecting us and belittling us in front of our children, one thing that stuck out with us from the interaction was the lady telling us how she’s a landlord and knows all of the state laws and anything that is connected to building when we go to leave must stay.. we argued back and forth about how we paid for and own all of the equipment including sinks and have receipts for it all… it wasn’t even 12 hours later I receive a text from The property manager stating that she will be there with an insurance person on 4/4/23.. this was the morning that our cat of over 12 years passed away, and April 4th is our wedding anniversary.. I ask her to reschedule for April 10th or any day there after because we will be out of town for our anniversary we already made the plans.. nope she refuses to reschedule and proceeds to tell me well I will just come by with her you don’t have to be there… umm no you will not come into the building We are leasing and have all of our assets in without us there.. well guys you know what enough is enough final straw because we DO NOT TRUST Them! And especially after the argument the night before receiving her message it really made me think she is going to try and pull some crap and try to steal our equipment… pardon my language but f**k around and find out it took us one month to get all the equipment, get it installed and get open… it took us 2 days to take it all out.. Big surprise once she found out that we disconnected everything already she no longer needs to come, so we cancelled our anniversary plans out of state for nothing.. I’m sorry y’all we had a good run and it was blast meeting everyone and we’re sorry it had to come to this… in ending we would not recommend the building.
