Day 21 of 30 days🥰

So I decided to make some sourdough starter again. After I had posted about it the other day I went ahead and started it again, this time I’m storing it in a different place away from heat sources. And so far I’ve fed it twice and it’s actually doubled each time! I think I’ve got it this time. I hate having to discard half of it each time. I feel like it’s so wasteful. What are your tips and tricks? Do you just add the half you take out to a new jar? Or just toss it?

We were driving on our street and saw a herd of deer, so I turned my camera on because yesterday we ended up seeing two herds of deer, I was fortunate to see them both again.

It’s day 20! We have eggs starting to hatch, the chicks inside even moved a few of their eggs too. This is so remarkable and such a beautiful lesson of life. 🥚

Barn Haven Farms

Me at 18 just before I left for the Army. As each year passed I would stare at this and crave that feeling again.

When I say this was a dream of mine, I mean it. My grandma always had horses and I was lucky I was able to find my passion for them because of her. I enjoyed every aspect of helping, mucking stalls, feeding, tackling them up, riding, all of it.

She always told me “not every ride is a perfect ride.” And I saw that first hand a few times. I’ve been tossed, I’ve fallen off over my own mistake, I watched my grandma take a fall on this very trail that resulted in her breaking her leg. And even shaking I got back on. Because if you don’t, you never will. We would ride through the trails and into town, stopping by my other grandmas house and back again.

This is Trea, and unfortunately he passed away two years ago at the age of 34/35 from a twisted gut. Over the years I lost a lot of the pictures I had with him. This horse was stubborn but I loved him, he even bit me twice. Until I became close to him. Made a bond with him. Literally going from being afraid of him to never wanting to leave his side.

Now at the age of 33 my dream is coming true. And I now have a horse of my own.

I have attempted to make sour dough starter so many times but I feel like I mess it up. How do you guys make it? What would cause it to not double after I feed it on the second day?
