LindaNaturally

LindaNaturally LindaNaturally is a hobby venture in growing, canning and eating healthy. It began as a way of thinking. It has evolved into a way of life. I began to can.

It all began with a garden. A small garden that grew well and gave me veggies to pick and eat. The garden grew larger. My expectations for myself and for that garden evolved and grew, too. Gardening was now organic gardening using no pesticides and no chemical fertilizers. And the harvests grew and I needed to be able to use all that I grew. And I canned enough I had to "gift" much of it away. But

I learned to can carefully and well and creatively. And I knew exactly what was in each of those sparkling canning jars. I knew I created it! It made me proud. That wonderful ever-evolving garden was in Ohio, just outside of Cincinnati. Last February, 2011 my husband retired and we moved here to Missouri (my home state). Wendell knew how much gardening meant to me and made sure I had 2 raised garden beds for our first growing season in Bonne Terre. The harvest was pitiful (It will be better with each passing year). But I found local fruits and local honeys and recipes I had never heard of before. And I began canning in Missouri. I canned more jams and fruit butters than I had ever attempted before. Then I took some of my jams and pickles to a local shop and they liked them! I was no longer gifting everything away. I found that I could sell my jarred jams at A Few of Your Favorite Things. And I was making friends, and becoming part of a community, and providing charitable support to charitable and community causes. And becoming known as LindaNaturally. The name fits. It's comfortable. I like it. LindaNaturally will never promise a production run of 50 jars of anything. I can't do that. My batches are small and carefully crafted. I am a homecanner in my own kitchen and I work alone. I also can't ever absolutely promise that a new batch will be exactly like a previous batch. I don't use flavor or color additives that guarantee "sameness". My products are as natural as I can craft them. LindaNaturally is currently available by contacting me and by stopping by
a wonderful small specialty shop in Bonne Terre named A Few of Your Favorite Things 37 School St.

*UPDATE*. There is a family member who has expressed very strong interest. I'm waiting to hear back from her. A TDL friend is next in line. I'll keep you posted if these fall through.

Ok. I am looking for a new home for our vintage/antique solid wood diningroom set. It has a gorgeous buffet, a lighted China
cabinet, a table and 6 chairs. It has served me very well for 20+ years. I'm asking only $125 for ALL the pieces. I want to see this set with a happy home. That is why I am starting to spread the word here.

POSTED AND GONE!!! Thanks! No longer available.
See the qt. canning jars?? They need a home! There are better than 100 here. Been stored in the garage so they aren't sparkling clean. Get back to me quick if you want them. FREE!!! If they are not picked up by next Tuesday they will be donated to FPAC or Helping Hand and then you will have to pay for them. Get back to me. I will not hold something I'm giving for free. First one here takes the lot.

Got my walk in this morning. Got yard work and gardening done, too. I had no energy and very little motivation but I managed to get it done. Yay me!

My garden is disappearing. Lolll actually, it's just a case of spent plants being removed and burned. So after garden work this morning, I came in and made a layered salad for dinner (making sure I used up the leftover fried chicken breast from last night's dinner). Also from yesterday is our dessert. I made a totally dynamite peach/blueberry pie. Now you can see why I could be satisfied with just salad for dinner. I had to so I could have pie for dessert!

Let's hear it for fungus in the morning! Loll all of these growths are on our property.

Here you see the last of my garden grown beets. They didn't get large but they are d finitely delicious. A lot of time went into peeling these little suckers so I could cook them and have them ready to EAT! Maybe in a salad at lunch?

Another day. Another harvest from my garden. Remember my garden is small and I use no chemical fertilizers and no pesticides of any kind. Everything is grown as organically as I can do it. 😅

Dinner was baked swai seasoned with Sri Lankan fish curry that I picked up in Cincinnati last year. I had never used it till now. Pretty tasty! Add plain white jasmine rice, broiled zucchini and steamed green beans.

My walk this morning got cut short at 3.15 miles. Wendell came and rescued me from the falling rain. But while walking I saw some fabulous fungal growths, a "PartyBargeOsaurusRex" (note those spine points!) and a view of both sides of the Lac Capris dam.
