When I took level 3, I was hot water each time we tasted a wine.
🎈My notes were 100% opposite of everyone else’s
❌I wasn’t getting any of the structural calls for acid, tannin, body, finish
🎢My calls for simple and complex were way off
💔My heart would literally stop pumping anytime we had to call out answers in class
❓I had so many questions yet too embarrassed to speak out (seriously what is phenolics!?)
Point is, I struggled. I felt so alone and was drinking straight out of a fire hose.
It doesn’t have to be this way! After going through diploma, I finally started understanding the fundamentals of tasting from sensory, texture, structure, quality and age worthiness.
It’s why I’m so passionate about this topic- is because I struggled so much with it!

A sensory life is a happy life - and learning to Taste guided me into becoming more focused and aware as a human. Now I meditate daily as a self care practice and I’ve never looked back.
