25th Annual RAHA Rally 2021
Help celebrate both the 25th Annual RAHA Rally and the 60th Anniversary for North American Trail Ride Confrence (NATRC). Come Ride with us November 6 and/or November 7, 2021 at Penasquitos Preserve. For those coming both days, no on-site camping is permitted, however off-site camping is available nearby (See Flyer for more details).

HORSE SPIRIT RANCH UPDATE!!!!!
10:00 PM SATURDAY
I just spoke with Lynne and she said so far so good! Still no fires close by, air quality is good and the horses happy and peaceful.
We are all hoping and praying that the winds stay calm tonight and that the barricades into the ranch get taken down tomorrow by the firemen so horse owners can come back in and see their horses.
Jeff Wohler and Sheryl Brown the steadfast husband and wife team at War Horse/Healing Horse, on the Horse Spirit Ranch property, have been incredibly helpful to Lynne by coming by daily to help out and bring Lynne and Bettina food and tonights meal was accompanied by a glass of wine too! Thank you Jeff Wohler.
We will post another update by late tomorrow morning.

So close, yet unscathed by the fires - see photo taken today! My hats off to the excellent team of dedicated women (Lynne Hayes, Batina, and Hannah) that stood by the ranch all through the night last night as fires blazed within 1/2 - 1 mile of the place. My hats off to these ladies and the dedication they have to providing excellent service to their boarders.

The authorities have informed us that they expect high winds tonight from the West the opposite of where the winds were coming from last night.
We are still in a mandatory evacuation area. At this time Horse Spirit Ranch is not planning on any mass evacuating of horses. Horse owners at Horse Spirit that want their horses to be evacuated please feel free to make your own arrangements and notify us by text when you are on your way. Call 211 for the best access route into Horse Spirit Ranch.
Please be advised we will be moving horses as needed within the ranch if a fire approaches. We will be posting updates every 2 hours with updates of the fires here on Facebook.

Our last update was that there are spot fires only in North County and the main fire was stopped at Douglas Road.
I have often seen ladies who I know love their horses very much, treat them like they are little children. This is very dangerous. They are not your little children and they are not children in any way. They can and will significantly hurt you. I have tried to change the thinking of some of these women but to no avail. They or someone near them has to get hurt before they change their minds. Then what happens is the horse gets a bad rap as being too dangerous, is often sold quickly, or simply given away. If you want your horse to be safe with you; set appropriate boundaries, keep those boundaries, Seek professional help if you are unable to become the respected, trusted leader of your horse. Be smart and stay safe. DO NOT TREAT YOUR HORSE LIKE IT IS YOUR CHILD.

She teaches lightness, balance, rhythm, and harmony between horse and rider. A most unique instructor indeed.
