Instead of Buy-One-Get-One, this summer we are doing Buy-One-GIVE-One.

For each bouquet you buy I will donate a bouquet to places in our community that deserve some extra love.

Not only will you get some gorgeous nature for your home, you’ll also get to put that same smile and joy in another person’s life.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Grab a bouquet from the Rinehart’s Farmer’s Market
2. Post a picture of your bouquet and either tag Maple Ridge Flower Farm or comment with your picture on this thread
3. Let me know where you think I should donate! I definitely want to take some to the nursing homes… where else do you recommend?

I’ve been feeling super sick lately, like stay-in-bed-while-getting-jumped-on-by-crazy-ninja-princess-dancer-superhero sick 😷 also evidenced by the fact that I haven’t yet cut Justin’s creepily long hair
🤣
We are thinking it’s probably a combination of crazy weather/barometric pressure and allergy sensitivities. Weird but true: ever since I first got migraines I’ve been super sensitive to corn and corn derivatives, lately it’s gotten to the point where I can’t even be around other people eating corn without getting weird anxiety and paranoia symptoms. Maybe moving to the middle of miles of corn wasn’t the best decision?

So, if you could pick one southern and preferably coastal area to live, where would it be? Bonus points for if it’s possible to grow more than 🌵😄

goldenrod + sedum + veronica + feverfew + peonies. I made, and re-made, these today because they weren’t *right* but ultimately it doesn’t matter. Flowers are beautiful in their own right, just they way they are

Wild roses are blooming now and I have to keep reminding myself to actually stop and smell them.

Between the late winter and the (very) early summer temps it’s already one of those seasons where you have to set aside your best laid plans and just keep going on.

A lot of our favorite flowers need a cool period in order to establish a strong root system and some, like ranunculus, need 40 degree nights with 60 and 70 degree day temps. Both of which have been few and far between this year. So I’m busy adjusting my planting schedule, sowing more seeds, and re-prepping beds of flowers that couldn’t handle all of this heat.

And please tell me I’m not the only one who hears a little garden gnome’s voice on a beach every time you think of roses... 🤣🌹 🏝

These will keep blooming and opening over the next couple of weeks. The green will explode in pretty white flowers along with the purple eastern redbud. It's pretty much everything amazing about springtime in a vase. We're delivering these on FRIDAY. Send me a pm to get one for your table too!

He showed up looking worse for wear, the bitty kitten was completely sick and battered. His eye is still deformed, but he survived because the kind people at Boone Area Humane Society nursed him back to health by hand.
