Another Birthing Day at Lost Goat.
First Stevie, the dappled Boer mix gave birth to 2 of the curliest cutest chocolate brown babies. One boy and one girl.
She needed a little help since Twin #1 had one front legt twisted around backwords. But the second I got that unwrapped and facing forwards, out came the first baby, and no sooner had I started to rub that one with a towel than another was delivered right on top of us. Stevie and I cleaned them up together and I moved them to a stall. Both were nursing right away and both are really big healthy babies!
As soon as I let the new family to bond I ran across Bonnie Raid, the Angora who had been giving me such anxiety the last coup eweeks with here, 'I'm in labor no I'm not I am in labor no false alarm wait here it come. Nope sorry".... she walked pass me making all the efforts to ignore me, and was streaming. Hard. So I followed her.
Within minutes she gave birth with little help other than comforting, to a gorgeous curly Ink Black Boy. Apryl has named him Robert Johnson since as yet another male angora he will be keps, and she has decided he will go to the cross roads late one dark night and trade his boy parts, his ability to make babies, to the Devil so he can stay and live out his live at Lost Goat.
Sounds perfectly possible to me .
So welcome Robert Johnson.
Update: The tiny runt from Alice's triplets is staying the house at night and being fed her Mama's milk but he spent pretty much all day with Mom and brothers yesterday and all went well. And other day or too and he should be strong enough to join them full time. :)
