Cattle and crew have been home a week now. The fresh fall weather was a welcome change! Cows enjoyed more time outside while trailers were emptied, equipment cleaned, supplies organized, and piles of laundry and mail completed. Then attention turned to fall consignments (watch for details) and June calves in need of haircuts and leading practice (exciting group for 2027!). So it's about time we post some pictures from World Dairy Expo.

The Jerseys started first and highlights include exciting results for cattle we sold in the past 3 years:

🏆🏆South Mountain & CO Rockin' Robin (Rascal x Kid Rock) had quite a week!
Monday => 1st Spring Yearling, Junior Show Junior Champion & Open Show Reserve JC for Brayden Carpio and Kiliana Breuer.
Thursday night => crowned Supreme Champion Heifer of the Junior Show!
Rockin' Robin was initially purchased in our June 2025 Father's Day Sale by Pierick & Corbett, then sold privately to the Colorado juniors after winning the spring calf class at WDE last year.

We've been a little busy but want to get the word out about a chance to own embryos from CAMILLA tonight! Canadian Club daughters are hot and the semen is scarce. https://www.facebook.com/jerseymarketingservice

Lot A: 4 #1 Canadian Club (sexed) embryos from CAMILLA!

CAMILLA makes fancy calves. Her daughters by Chocochip (full blood sibs to the embryos) and Rock & Roll were in the winner's circle this year. And her daughters are starting to calve across North America.

Another milestone anniversary...the year was 2001.

25 years since ASHLYN made a Supreme 'Sweep' starting at Maryland State Fair, moving on to PA All-American Dairy Show, then World Dairy Expo and finishing at the Royal Winter Fair.

1996....30 years???

Yes, it has been 30 years since NADINE reigned Supreme at World Dairy Expo. Enjoy this flashback!

Waymar Patrick Nadine 97%
Supreme Champion World Dairy Expo 1996
Owned by Elliott Kueffner

They say all the good ones have a story. From the quick detour while road tripping with Michael Heath to see a Holstein named Huntshaven CC Vivian on August 1st, a pay phone, Nadine's reluctant adjustment to life in the south, the Caverly connection, hoof trimming, a literal Crown Royal run, Norman C. Nabholz' phone call --- this one had more than her share in just 60 days from purchase to purple drape!

The Supreme Nadine ❤️

Everyone is enjoying the dramatic temperature change after MELTING at Maryland State Fair last week. None of the cattle in the string - or our hard-working crew - had ever been to state fair before. The cattle took the heat and extreme humidity in stride. The people....had a harder time🥵🫠!

We'll start with Jersey show highlights and a few candids from Tuesday-Thursday:
☀️ANA - 1st Jr. 3-yr old, Reserve Intermediate Champion & Reserve Grand Champion; owned with Jim & Leanne Strout
☀️CHARLIZE - 2nd Jr. 2-yr old & HM Intermediate Champion; owned with Jason Steinlage
☀️DYNASTY (Joyride x DIXIE) - 2nd Milking Yearling
☀️COVERGIRL (Chocochip x CAMILLA)- 1st Summer Yearling & Reserve Junior Champion

Others we bred:
☀️CELESTE (Bontino x CAMILLA) - 1st Summer Jr. 2-yr old for Glamourview & Walton
☀️ROCKETTE (Kid Rock x EX Chrome x RADIANT) -4th Jr. 3-yr old; owned with Josh & Hannah Skipton
☀️REMI (Gibbs x RASCAL) - 6th Jr. 3-yr old for Shenandoah Jerseys

Group classes:
☀️1st SR BEST THREE - DYNASTY, CELESTE & REMI
☀️1st PRODUCE - CELESTE & COVERGIRL (CAMILLA)
☀️2nd PRODUCE - REMI & REALITY (RASCAL)
☀️2nd EXHIBITORS HERD

We appreciate everyone who helped at the fair - Tesh, Dale, Jim, Mandy, Nate, Max, Kyle, Cole, JR, Jess & more - and at the farm - Jonathan, Camden, Helen, Vince & David. This definitely would not be possible without you.

Watch for an Ayrshire and Holstein recap tomorrow.

We were treated to an incredible sunset after the storm last night. What started with a few rays of sunshine beyond the pond and pretty pink sky over South Mountain, turned into quite a show as the clouds and colors changed. All of this happened in 17 minutes!
