πŸ“Š Did you know?

More than 1 in 10 New Jersey residents faces food insecurity β€” including working families, children, and seniors right here in Morris County.

Food insecurity doesn't look one way. It's a parent choosing between rent and groceries. A senior stretching a can of soup across two meals. A child who doesn't know if dinner is coming.

Your neighbors need support β€” and Loaves & Fishes is here to help. No appointment. No judgment. Just community.

πŸ’™ Motivation Monday

"The world is changed by your example, not your opinion."

Every jar of peanut butter. Every bar of soap. Every volunteer hour. It all adds up to something bigger than any one of us.

This week, be the neighbor you wish you had.

πŸ₯œπŸ§Ό Our Shelves Need a Little Help! 🧼πŸ₯œ

This week, Loaves & Fishes is especially in need of peanut butter and bar soap.

Peanut butter is one of the most requested items at the pantry because it’s shelf-stable, protein-packed, and easy for families to incorporate into meals and snacks. Bar soap is a basic necessity that helps families maintain health and dignity, but it’s often one of the hardest items for us to keep in stock.

If you’re heading to the grocery store, would you consider picking up an extra jar of peanut butter or a package of bar soap for our neighbors in need?

It is Thursday, and we are thinking about the people who make this pantry run. This week, we're featuring our Tuesday receiving crew who do an amazing job!

Thank you. All of you. This pantry exists because of you, and around 200 families are better off as a result.

If you have been thinking about getting involved, fill out our form on the website at www.lfcfp.org.

It is Wednesday, which means we are open today from 4 to 6 PM.

No appointment needed. No paperwork. Just walk in.

This week we are running especially low on two things: soap and peanut butter. Soap is one of the most requested personal care items we carry, and peanut butter is one of the most nutritious, shelf-stable protein sources a family can have on hand.

If you are heading to the store this week, those two items would make a real difference for the around 200 families we serve each week.

You can drop donations in our collection box out front anytime, day or night. Or give online at lfcfp.org via PayPal or our Amazon Wish List.

See you this afternoon, Boonton.

She told us she had not washed her hair in two weeks.

Not because she did not want to. Because there was no shampoo. And when you are stretching every dollar to cover rent and groceries, a bottle of shampoo feels like a luxury you cannot justify.

She came in on a Wednesday. She left with shampoo, soap, and deodorant. She came back the following Saturday to drop off a bag of canned goods she had picked up at a sale.

That is how this works. People are not looking for a handout. They are looking for a hand. And when they find it, they tend to reach back.

We are open Wednesday from 4 to 6 PM and Saturday from 9 to 11 AM. Come by, drop something off, or just say hello.

What a week.

A family donated the proceeds from a garage sale tool sale. Our volunteer crews showed up every day to stock shelves. Families came in on Wednesday and Saturday and left with not just groceries but also shampoo, soap, and other items that help a person feel like themselves.

This is what June looks like at Loaves and Fishes. Ordinary people doing ordinary things that add up to something genuinely good.

If you have been thinking about getting involved, whether as a donor, a volunteer, or just someone who shares our posts, now is a great time. National Hunger Awareness Month is the perfect moment to let people in your circle know we are here.

We will see you Wednesday, 4 to 6 PM, and Saturday, 9 to 11 AM.

Three things you might not know about Loaves and Fishes.

One: We are not just a food pantry. Every week, we also distribute personal care items like soap, shampoo, deodorant, and baby wipes. These items are not covered by most food assistance programs, so they are almost always in short supply.

Two: Our collection box outside is checked multiple times a day. You do not have to come during our hours to donate. Drop something off at 7 AM on your way to work. We will find it.

Three: We are entirely volunteer-run. Every person you see here on Wednesdays or Saturdays is giving their time because they believe in this community.

We are open today, Saturday, until 11 AM. Come see us.
