My name is Amy Maver and I am a registered nurse who believes that a healthy diet should include yummy bread! I am a Registered Nurse who currently is home full time to accommodate the learning needs of my four children. I am holistically minded, and truly believe that food is medicine. I started following the Trim Healthy Mama way of eating approximately seven years ago. I believe that a balanced, whole food diet and stable blood sugars are key to having sustained health.

Hey, friends! I have been quiet on here because I have been fulfilling private orders. I will be baking some 100% whole wheat honey oat English muffins today with some of my abundant starter. This is a single batch of Sourdough Grissini. It is long fermented for nearly 20 hours. It is made of 100% white whole wheat and has a healthy dose of minced garlic, sautéed until tender in organic extra virgin olive oil. They are thin cut, hand rolled, and sprinkled with sesame seeds before baking. They are perfect with a bowl of soup in these cold winter days. I have one extra batch of these as pictured and three batches of twisted grissini with everything but the bagel seasoning. Pictures of those to come after they come out of the oven! There are slightly fewer twisted grissini because I have to double them to twist them efficiently. Let me know if you want any! I will be at Townsend Bible Church today from 3:30-7:00. $6 per batch

I have been working hard over the last week to make my starter happy enough to rise bread…but it’s hating the cold weather changes. That said, I have a lot of starter to knock down as it is attempting to become active enough for bread baking. I’m making several batches of sourdough grissini today to use some of the starter. These are basically skinny breadsticks and are a total experiment. If you feel like being a Guinea pig, let me know! One batch is supposed to be 20 servings, but I can advise as they are finishing whether this remains constant. $6 per batch.

I apologize for not posting sooner, but I’m attempting to source einkorn berries affordably to switch a good portion of my baked goods to ancient grains for increased digestibility and reduced sensitivity to the gluten.

You guys have been very patient! I see you checking my page for posts, and I am so thankful! I actually wasn’t sure if I would have time to make anything this week due to having a road trip to pick up my college kids. However….

I have 5 pans of sourdough cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing available. Each pan holds 12-13 good sized rolls. $22 per pan. These are a little different than usual in that they are just over half freshly milled whole wheat, with the remaining flour being all purpose. They are sweetened with honey in the dough, long fermented for over 12 hours, and stuffed with a cinnamon filling that has golden monkfruit and molasses for sweetness. They are sweetened cream cheese frosting is sweetened with honey. These should freeze well if you want to save them for Christmas! First 5 takers gets them! Pictures to come when they are cooled enough to put the frosting on!

I kind of forgot about my starter and baking while I had company! Sorry about that! My starter is bubbling again, but I don’t know that it will bring an excellent rise after its vacation in the refrigerator. If anyone wants some Italian sourdough fry bread, that’s the plan. Think bread pancakes, seasoned with Italian seasoning and flaky salt, cooked in olive oil. These are yummy for dunking in soup! My family LOVES them! A dozen for $6. Let me know if you want any by Monday, December 8. Pickup at Townsend Bible Church on Wednesday, December 10 between 3:45-7:00 pm.

We are approaching Thanksgiving very quickly! Next week I will be making pie crusts! These are a THM: XO and the absolute best traditional pie crust I have had since choosing this lifestyle. The crusts are 100% white whole wheat and fully fermented sourdough. They freeze beautifully! $10 each! Let me know how many you want! Please order by Saturday, November 15, for pickup on Tuesday, November 18 at Townsend Bible Church between 3:30-7:00 pm. I will not be baking the week of Thanksgiving due to having company staying at my home!

I have had requests for biscuits and pumpernickel bread for this upcoming week. $10 for a pan of biscuits, and also $10 for a loaf of pumpernickel. Let me know how many want! I aim to please! As always, these are 100% whole grain, fully fermented sourdough. Please order by Saturday, November 8 due to the longer cold fermentation of the biscuits. Pickup is at Townsend Bible Church on Tuesday, November 11 between 3:30-7:00 pm.
