Autumn is nice out here in Anderson Valley. While many lament the fast approaching end of summer, we’re getting ready for cozy season. Harvest in the vineyards, cool mornings, evenings outside in comfy sweaters.
Fall Hornin’ Pumpkin Ale is the perfect pour to match the mood: brewed with real pumpkin puree, rounded out with cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg.
It pours deep copper under a creamy beige head. The nose is caramelized malt and baking bread before the spice arrives. At 6% and only 20 IBU, there’s little bitterness in the way, so the dark chocolate malt sits underneath and keeps the whole thing from turning into dessert.
Drink it with steak chili, roasted root vegetables, or a wedge of aged Cheddar. On store shelves through October.
