Every bar has a guy with stories.
Ours has John.

He drifted into town the way trouble usually does in the old movies: military brat childhood, bounced between places like Massachusetts and Hawaii, learning early that home is sometimes just wherever you dropped your bag. Somewhere along the line, there were strange nights wandering Europe alone as an actual child. The kind of stories that make you pause mid-sip and say, “Wait… you were HOW old?”

Thirty-plus years behind bars (the fun kind, not the incarcerated kind) and stages followed. John has tended cocktails, run rock clubs, survived late nights, loud bands, and enough bad decisions to qualify as a historian of human behavior.

Somewhere in that smoke and neon, he became the twisted and creative mind behind many of our cocktails.

If you’ve laughed while reading the hand-written comments on our coasters, that’s John too. Equal parts philosopher, smartass, and sleep-deprived poet laureate of the bar rail.

And in the off hours he disappears into his other life: artist, paint-stained thinker, collector of strange ideas.

Some bartenders pour drinks.
John pours character.
And usually a little bourbon.
