💗Until now we have not publicly shared that Immy, our Afghan Hound, and lady of the house, was put to sleep last night. She suffered for several years with Congestive Heart Failure. It worsened in recent months. We did not want her to experience end of life distress, she has had enough distress with increased heartrate, fluid issues, back legs giving out, that occasional faraway look in her eye...that look because she knew where she was going, and she was lovingly prepared for that.
💗It breaks our heart but thank God for faith. Yes Kate is a pet loss grief "expert" but she otherwise struggles just like everyone else. This one puts her to the test, but with support she'll make it through too.
📚Kate is taking the day off and reading our books again today...trying to keep our Joey from feeling terribly distressed without Immy, which he is. Day one. Our goal is to get through this loss one day at a time.
💗God bless you Immy Girl. You were so easygoing. So easy to love. We'll see you again when the time is right. 🌈
Love, Jack and Kate 🐾💗
(Photo taken yesterday on our final walkie. Kate edited out the leash in the photo...11 years on a leash...it's time to run free little girl. Run free on the wings of our love for you.)
