Lone Mountain Farm Summer Wilderness Day Camp, Native American History Program Lone Mountain is a 100 acre farm, located in the South Mountains of Western North Carolina.

We offer a variety of outdoor and classroom related programs, designed to educate while instilling a passion for the great outdoors. We have been educating many elementary aged children throughout the Piedmont and Foothills of Western North Carolina since 1995. A good way to learn archery is by learning from a live person, specifically Big Dave. In all seriousness, working with an experienced archer is the safest and easiest way to learn to shoot. Some of the things campers learned today included how their feet should be placed, how to aim the arrow, and how to pull the string back to make the arrows fly.

Blackfoot tribe got dirty today!! We spent time in the garden learning to hoe, pick weeds, and plant seeds.
They loved it! Garden life…the best life!

The Cherokee tribe had a wonderful experience at farm life today . Who can resist a fluffy little silkie, a snuggly little turkey poult or the adorable soft lamb and kid ? Along with all that cuteness comes tremendous responsibility. There are, of course, the daily tasks of feeding, watering the animals, p**p patrol and so much more. The campers jumped right in without hesitation!!
