It was also crotchety old Heatha’s 7th birthday! She is our oldest chicken.

First batch of fresh eggs preserved for when egg production slows this fall.

This is called “water glassing” and is so simple to do!
All you need is:
quart mason jars
filtered water
pickling lime
fresh clean eggs (not washed, but free of p**p).

The eggs will last for a year in a cool dark place!
