Eight months ago, we opened our doors in Seaport with a promise: 4,000 free meals for neighbors who needed one. This week, we hit 400. 💛

We have an abundance of organic, gluten free, vegan, egg free, dairy free, vegetarian, some seed oil free, pasture raised and peanut/tree nut free items on our menu. Why? Because we like to make accommodations for all children and families. They are part of our community and we love them. No one goes hungry at LCB!

Join us on Saturday, May 9 at Little Cocoa Bean for a morning of early childhood music and movement! Music Therapists from will be leading participants in hands-on musical activities, showcasing an instrument petting zoo, and crafting handheld musical instruments together with your little ones. CMCB staff will also be present if you have questions or want to learn more about their Music Therapy or Early Childhood programs. We hope to see you there!

About last night…

Back in August of 2016, I wrote the following journal entry. I was struggling to understand why career choices matter to God. The abridged version:

08/21/16

“…Then I watched a movie called ‘Joy’ today and it began to make sense. In the final scene of the movie the main character is finally a success. She’s sitting across from a woman with a new baby, a job as a waitress and an idea. The woman risks it all to spend the day pitching her idea and it pays off for two reasons. 1) it’s a good idea and, 2) the main character is willing to give the woman a chance because she’s been in her shoes before.

So why did this make me realize why a career calling matters? Here goes:

When God sent Jesus to earth, He asked Him to save us. He spent His human years preaching, teaching and performing miracles. His miracles were important because when we are like babies in our faith we often need to “see it to believe it”. Jesus did incredible things so we’d know the kind of power God possesses. Absolutely nothing is impossible for God.

So today when I watched that final scene of the movie, I realized that God is still flexing His power all over the globe. What if I believed that my career could lead to someone’s miracle. God’s calling on your life matters because when you’re in the position He called you to be in, someone else might witness a miracle through you that ultimately bring them closer to God.

God I hear you! There’s so much work to be done. So many lives to save. I will get into position so that you can use my life and my work for your glory and to bring your children back to you.

Your calling matters.”
