Free tasting this Thursday, 4:30–6:30. The maestro Greg Windrem is in from Oz Wine Company with some perfect summer pours: Viognier and Pinot Noir from the bike-powered folks Illahe Vineyards, silky Garnacha from Spain’s best-kept secret (), and a Pais from the middle of nowhere in Chile that will make you wonder where it’s been your whole life.

See you there.

Hot one today, hot one tomorrow, maybe some rain? Before we chance our luck, let’s talk certainties. Vito from will be here pouring Vermentino, Freghino, and whites from the Amalfi Coast — which, last we checked, were synonymous with summer.

Why suffer when there’s cold wine to go around, including a frizzante with a boat on the label that isn’t being subtle about anything.

The fun is, of course, free, the air conditioning at least relatively, and the bottles pop open at 4:30. See you there.

Girolamo Russo makes the case for Etna better than almost anyone.

’a Rina is the entry point into Etna Rosso — Nerello Mascalese with a touch of Cappuccio, grown in the lava-fueled soils of the north slope. ‘Nerina is something else: a single-contrada Etna Bianco, a field blend built around Carricante from one of the appellation’s most compelling sites.

We’ve always admired Russo’s commitment to showcasing Etna. If you’ve ever wondered what Etna is really capable of, these are your wines.

A cherry farmer planted the wrong grapes on the wrong side of the Willamette Valley. Forty years later it’s one of the more interesting vineyards in Oregon — Viognier, Tempranillo Rosé, and Pinot Noir growing on ancient seabed in Polk County, none of it what you’d expect.

That’s May’s wine club.

Last night with was a tremendous success. Thanks to everyone who braved the rain, for all her support, and Stefania and Turi for all the hard work they do — from farming their vineyards to making their incredible wines.

Before they left, Turi put his signature on his ahem signature wines. Let us know if you’re interested in this one-of-a-kind option.

Plot twist.

We posted an event on Monday. Then Turi & Stefania Marino called and said they could make it to Boston.

Same Thursday. Still free. Now we’re pouring their Sicilian wines in person with the people who made them — plus ancestral method sparkling rosé from Cerdon and a Rosso di Montepulciano that Dora Forsoni has been farming since 1968.

Yes, will be here too.

Bottles pop at 4:30. Come rain or shine.

This Thursday we welcome back one of our favorite people to ever don the Bacco’s chef coat, , as she walks us through four wines we adore.

Ancestral method sparkling rosé from Cerdon. A Loire Sauvignon Blanc that slays Sancerre. Vézelay Chardonnay. A Rosso di Montepulciano farmed by the same woman since 1968.

Bottles pop at 4:30. Join us.
