Ploy Khunisorn is a native of Thailand. She went to Suan Dusit International Culinary School while she was working as a financial analyst in Bangkok. She came to the USA to do a master’s degree in Sustainability at Harvard University and a master’s degree in Education at Cambridge College. She started teaching cooking classes since 2014. With her love of traveling over 30 countries, she has learne

d varieties of cuisine around the world. In her 7+ years of teaching experience, Ploy has taught over 5,000 students to cook and bake Asian cuisines, vegan food, gluten free diets, pastries, and more. Currently, she only focuses on teaching online interactive cooking classes.

I am so honored to be selected as a recipient of the Les Dames d’Escoffier Culinary Adventure Award.

This opportunity supports my ongoing research on rice noodle traditions, culinary heritage, and the role of food in cultural identity across Southeast Asia.

Grateful to the Boston chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International and the BU Gastronomy team for their support. Looking forward to continuing this work in the field.

Upon returning, I will present my research at Boston University, with a talk open to the BU community and the public. Please stay tuned for details in Fall/Winter 2026.

Grateful for the opportunity to complete the Wagyu Sommelier Certification Program. This experience deepened my understanding of Wagyu beyond marbling, exploring provenance, grading, craftsmanship, and the cultural values that shape one of the world’s most revered proteins. A meaningful step in continuing to teach and cook with intention, respect, and precision.

It was so awesome to get to try amazing food made with wagyu from many talented chefs.

My final project was “Seared and Spiced Hand-Pulled Noodles” I made hand-pulled noodles from scratch using wagyu fat, chili sauce with wagyu fat, seared wagyu from chuck tender shoulder, pickled cucumber, pickled radish, and microgreen.

Just wrapped up the fall semester with the amazing classmates! Loved being a student in ’s Bake Like a Pro class! 🍰💛 Whether it’s laminated dough, puff pastry, or even cake, there’s always something magical about stepping back, learning new skills, and letting curiosity lead the way. ✨ Honored to return to the World Cup 2025 in Bangkok, this time as a judge and not just as a former competitor. As a proud SIFE alumna (2008–2010) , it was incredibly meaningful to see how far this movement has come in celebrating 50 years of impact. 🌍💡

From the judge’s table, I was inspired by the creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit of student teams tackling challenges from sustainability to innovation. ENACTUS today isn’t only about projects; it’s about building ecosystems of change with measurable, lasting impact. Congrats to Canada on winning the champion for the impact team and Zimbabwe on winning the champion for the early-stage team!

It was also wonderful to reconnect and meet leaders who continue to drive this mission forward:

Looking back on my journey from SIFE student to ENACTUS judge, I feel grateful for the lessons, friendships, and inspiration this organization continues to bring into my life.

Finally I met Spring and Hieu in person in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam!
As always, they were wonderful hosts and guides showing my mom and me hidden gems in Saigon. We tried Mi hoanh thanh xa xiu, bo kho, ca phe sua da, tau hu nong, and many amazing tropical fruits. I have attended their virtual tour for the past 5 years and it was always great to get to meet them in-person. Ho Chi Minh City is an amazing fun city to visit. Nice people and yummy food. I’ll be back ❤️😘

I haven’t had a chance to post much lately—just a few stories from some of my in-person cooking classes! But I’m still teaching online classes via Zoom about 3–4 days a week. Thank you all so much for joining and for your enthusiasm in exploring Asian food cultures with me!

I just wrapped up an online Japanese ramen-from-scratch class—it’s always such a fun and satisfying dish to make at home. I have many exciting online cooking classes coming up in May. Cooking at home has never been easier (or more delicious)!
