The 1786 Fowler Clark Epstein Farm, originally part of a 330 acre estate, is a rare surviving farmstead from time when Mattapan was an agrarian part of the Town of Dorchester. Historic Boston purchased the property in June for preservation and re-use. oration of the Fowler Clark Epstein Farm as an urban farm and education center for the Urban Farming Institute that will include classrooms, demonstration kitchen, planting beds, and a farm stand. This vision supports the burgeoning urban farming movement in Boston, creates jobs, and provides access to locally grown produce for neighbors.
