-1920: Prohibition – Government bans use of terms beer and ale, call near beer “Cereal Beverage”, Haffenreffer calls is Pickwick Pale.

-1933: Repeal of Prohibition. is granted Brewing Permit #1 in Massachusetts.

-1953: Haffenreffer Private Stock Malt Liquor is born. This strong, crisp beer "with the imported taste" becomes a success overnight.

-1961: Puzzles under the caps are introduced.

-1980: Wilt “The Stilt” Chamberlain becomes Private Stock spokesman with the tagline "Nobody Does It Bigger".

-1994: Famous rapper, The Notorious B.I.G. Lyrics include"Smokin' w**d in bamboo, sippin' on Private Stock." It peaked at #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on Billboard Hot Rap Songs.

-2011: Beginning of a new era. The stag and lion on Private Stock labels come to life....
